The Apple of My Eye novel Chapter 2151

Suddenly, Rob became so nervous that he started stammering. It wasn't until he heard the deep voice that he started to calm down.

"Boss, Charles said that you always carried a jade pendant around your neck. If you bring it to him, he will believe our relationship."

"Really?" After thinking for a while, Ferry moved his right hand to his neck and pulled the jade pendant from his neck.

"Here you are." Ferry gave it to Rob.

Rob took it from Ferry and was instantly relieved.

"Take care, Boss. You'll be out by tomorrow at the latest."

"Okay, we can go back to business once I'm out." Ferry then burst into laughter.

Rob nodded his head in agreement. His eyes seemed to betray a sense of surprise.

In the basement

"Here's the token you asked for," Charles said as he showed Rob the jade pendant in his hand.

At the sight of the jade plate, Rob became extremely excited. "Yes, that's my boss's jade pendant. He always has it around his neck." He rushed to Charles in an attempt to take it from him.

Charles withdrew his hand. "Now that you've seen the jade pendant, will you trust me already?"

"Yeah, I do," Rob said, with a big smile on his face.

"Well, I hope you keep your word. Ferry will come to see you tomorrow around this time," Charles added.

Rob just nodded. He was too excited to say anything.

The next afternoon, Charles brought the well-trained "Ferry" to meet Rob.

At the sight of "Ferry," Rob was immediately shocked. He then stretched out his hands and shouted, "Boss! It's me, Rob!"

"Rob? How did you end up like this? Charles, what have you done to him?!" Ferry turned to question Charles in a rage.

"You can ask him about that. I did what I had to do. Where's the antidote?" Charles asked.

Rob didn't address Charles directly. He just said, "Once I leave here safely with my boss, I'll give you the antidote. Relax."

Charles' face darkened as he said, "That's not what we agreed on. Rob, don't test my patience."

The fake Ferry responded, "Rob's right. We won't give you the antidote until we've left safely. Your son's life is in your hands. You need to realize that."

Rob nodded in agreement.

After a pause, Charles waved his hand and ordered, "Let them go."

"Um, Boss..."

"Let them go," Charles raised his voice.

"Yes, sir!" Tinsel then ordered his subordinates to untie Rob.

"Boss, when we've left, we can be free again, and we can go back to business."

"Let's go."

Ferry helped Rob as they left the basement.

Charles didn't stop them as he watched them leave.

By the seaside

Rob bowed to Ferry and said excitedly, "Boss, we're finally free. No one can touch us again."

"Yes." Ferry took a drag on his cigarette and exhaled the smoke. He didn't say anything.

Rob was so excited that he didn't even notice that Ferry went silent. "I'm going to reach out to the people we used to know and make a big statement. We need a comeback," he added.

"That's exactly what I'm thinking about. Call them now and tell them I'm back."

"Sure. As long as you're back, Boss, we won't be afraid of anything," Rob shouted cheerfully.

"Charles helped me. I hate him, but I don't want to hurt his kid. Kids shouldn't be involved in things like this," Ferry said abruptly.

Rob was a little surprised. Had his boss changed so drastically in his three years in prison?

Rob didn't think too much about it. He just nodded his head and made a call.

"Send the other half of the antidote to the hospital," Rob ordered.

"Yes, Boss," the subordinate responded.

"Also, gather all our men at our old headquarters tonight. Tell them that our boss is back."

"Great! I'm on it!"

After hanging up the phone, Rob turned to look at Ferry and said happily, "Boss, I can't believe you're finally back. I'll always follow you, and I'll never leave your side again."

"Rob!" Ferry looked at Rob. He couldn't help but be moved, tears welling up in his eyes.

In the hospital

Sheryl patted Clark's shoulder gently and asked in concern, "Clark, are you feeling better?"

"Mom, I feel much better after vomiting. My body doesn't feel tired anymore, and my head doesn't hurt either. That's so strange. How did that happen?" Clark said as he stood up.

Sheryl heaved a sigh of relief. This meant that his body was already detoxified.

Moreover, Director Liu had also said that Clark had already fully recovered. He was as healthy and strong as before.

That was great!

Sheryl was glad that her son was fine. She asked, "Clark, what do you want to eat? You vomited so much. You must be hungry. Mommy will buy you whatever you want! The most delicious food!"

"No, thank you, Mom. I just want to lie on the bed for a while, can I?" Clark asked gently.

Sheryl hurried to help her son lie down on the bed. She then called Melissa again and said, "Mom, Clark has recovered. Please come to the hospital as soon as possible."

Melissa was so relieved to hear this that she immediately shared the good news with Nancy. However, when she tried calling Charles, he didn't answer.

Without thinking too much, Melissa and Nancy rushed to the hospital. They had brought with them a thermos with some porridge inside it.

In the ward, Sheryl watched the live broadcast in disbelief.

Something was being reported on TV.

The picture being displayed on TV looked exactly like Rob.

"According to an unknown source, this gang is under the leadership of a man named Rob. Their original leader, Ferry, has already been sentenced to life imprisonment. However, while he was serving his time, he seemed to behave well in prison when, in reality, he was just planning his escape. He is known for abducting people and torturing them. This is a very serious matter, and the court is doing whatever they can to address this issue..."

As soon as Melissa and Nancy entered the ward, they heard this news to their disbelief.

"Sher, is this true? We just heard Ferry..."

"It's true, Mom. Charles is there right now. Rob and his men were caught. Plus, Charles said that Ferry might be sentenced with the death penalty."

"Really? Ferry's going to die?" Melissa asked again. She thought that she had misheard her.

"Yes, it's true. We don't have to worry about him anymore. We're safe now." Sheryl sighed as she looked at Clark.

Melissa nodded. That was great news!

Sheryl was greatly relieved.

Now that Clark had been rescued and Rob had been caught, it was like they had killed two birds with one stone.

The next day, Clark went back to the Dream Garden. The whole family was celebrating his return.

Meanwhile, Shirley suddenly shouted, "Dad, propose to Mom! Mom said if you didn't propose to her, she was going to leave again with me and Clark."

As soon as Shirley said this, everyone went silent as if they were all holding their breath.

A few seconds later, Charles said in a low and husky voice, "Sher, Darling, marry me. I promise I will never hurt you again!"

"No, I've already married you once," Sheryl said, pouting.

"But… we already gotten a divorce. Will you marry me again?" Charles pressed Sheryl.

"Well..." Sheryl pretended to think about it, but suddenly she smiled playfully. "Charles, do you love me?"

"Of course, I love you. I love you so much. I don't want anyone else but you." Charles took this opportunity to show his sincerity. Everyone in the room was naturally moved.

"All right. How about you marry me this time?" Sheryl grinned.

"Ha-ha-ha!"

Before Charles could even respond, everyone in the room burst into laughter.

Charles hugged Sheryl tightly, not wanting to let go of her ever again.

This time, he really was never going to let go.
