The CEO Gets What He Wants novel Chapter 346

After stepping out of the court, Avery stared at the world covered in white with bright eyes.

The sun outside was still warm as ever, but she was no longer feeling gloomy like before.

Henrietta and Milana were finally getting punished for their actions.

Cayden wrapped a hand around her waist. When he noticed her ruminating silence and discovered that he could not read her mind, he asked, “What are you thinking about? You seem quite lost in your thoughts.”

“I'm wondering if Henrietta and Milana will receive a different sentence if they make an appeal,” Avery answered with a sigh.

At that, Cayden arched a brow before narrowing his eyes. “No. If they dare to make an appeal, I'll make sure that they'll receive a worse sentence.”

He had ways to make powerless yet evil people like them suffer a fate worse than death.

Avery then gently leaned against Cayden's chest.

His powerful heartbeat calmed her down. “Thank you for everything you've done for me.”

It was not as if Avery was incapable of holding Henrietta and Milana legally responsible for their actions by herself, but she knew that, if she did it without Cayden's help, it would have been a very long and tormenting process.

Instead of replying to her, Cayden grabbed her wrist and shoved her toward the front passenger seat before sitting down in the driver's seat.

“Where are we going?” Right as Avery said that, the man's hand grabbed her chin, and he captured her pink lips.

Avery's breathing turned laborious, and her heart pounded.

However, Cayden did not give her a chance to take in any fresh air as his warm breath caressed her cheeks.

It was an aggressive, punishing kiss.

The man's tongue invaded her mouth relentlessly as he stimulated all of her bodily senses.

Her strength fled her at his kisses. It felt as if she was floating among clouds and she let out a soft moan. “Mm...”

Her response made Cayden ravish her more intensely.

If not for the fact that they were in a car, he would have taken her there and then.

“Don't act like such a stranger with me next time, okay?” The heat at the bottom of his stomach forced Cayden to let Avery go.

He was afraid that he would lose all of his control if he were to keep kissing her.

Meanwhile, Avery was greedily taking in all the fresh air she needed. It was only then she understood why his kiss had been so aggressive.

So I accidentally irked him again. He doesn't want me to be as polite with him like a stranger would.

A shade of crimson crept onto Avery's already rosy cheeks, and she softly muttered, “I won't do it again. I won't be such a stranger to you from now on...”

“That's my good girl,” came the man's magnetic voice before he chuckled. “The punishment won't be this simple if you make such a mistake again.”

As he spoke, he fixed his burning, yearning eyes on her. It was as if he was already taking off her clothes with that gaze of his.

Avery's face turned even more flushed. He's such a flirt. Must he always desire me whenever he punishes me? I can't stand him...

A beat later, Cayden started the car.

As Avery stared at Cayden's slender fingers, she cleared her throat and asked, “Are we going to the office now?”

Cayden curled his lips and answered, “Yes. I'm going to wrap up work before we go on our date.”

...

At Trident Group, Avery entered the private elevator with Cayden.

When she stepped into the elevator, she saw her slim figure and Cayden's tall figure reflecting in the mirror.

It was then she recalled that it was a weekday and that she had applied for leave again to attend Henrietta and Milana's trial.

A swell of embarrassment rose in Avery's chest. It had only been mere months since she joined Trident Group, but she had taken more days off than the rest of the employees in the department.

The department head's going to lose it when I go back to the design department.

Meanwhile, Cayden was watching the changing expressions on Avery's face and he found her adorable.

“Don't keep staring at me!” Avery was getting a little nervous when she notice Cayden staring intently at her.

Furthermore, they were in the elevator—a narrow space. She was afraid that the man would turn into a beast abruptly.

To her surprise, Cayden only patted her head and kissed her forehead. He did not do anything after that.

Avery's tense body against the elevator wall finally relaxed.

When the elevator reached the highest floor, Cayden stepped out before Avery did.

Avery did not wish to let her private life bleed into her professional life. She did not want to seem too close to him and make the others spread rumors about them.

It was not the first time Avery had been to the CEO's office, but ever since she did the unspeakable with him in the break room of his office, she felt a tinge of embarrassment every time she entered the room.

“Huh? Avery, I thought you were on leave. Why are you here in the office?” said Kendrick when they encountered him.

“Kendrick, are you about to sneak out of the office again?” Cayden glared at his frivolous brother.

“What? No! The office is a little stuffy, so I was thinking of smoking outside for a while,” Kendrick squeezed out as he averted his eyes briefly.

He knew that his brother was at the court with Avery, so he thought he would be able to skip work.

Yet, just as he stepped out of his office, he bumped into Avery and Cayden. Why is my luck so bad?

Alas, Cayden pointed out, “There's a smoking area in the manager's room. Is that not good enough for you? If you don't want to stay in the headquarters, maybe I should send you to the South Alendor branch for training instead.”

Kendrick instantly shrieked, “Oh, my dear brother, I'm sorry! I shouldn't have skipped work. In fact, I'll get back to work right away! I don't want to go to South Alendor! Avery, look at how cruel my brother is. Please save me from him!”

As Kendrick complained, his gloomy gaze drifted toward Avery.

Avery nearly burst out laughing.

Kendrick was already an adult, but he still acted like a child.

Despite his flippant nature, Avery could not find it in herself to dislike him.

Avery then hooked her arm around Cayden's arm and said, “All right. Don't scare him anymore. He'll be able to share some of your workloads if he works in the headquarters.”

Kendrick quickly nodded fervently. “Avery's right. Cayden, we're brothers. You'll be less tired with me around. If you send me to South Alendor, you'll have one less helper!”

However, the words that came out of Avery's mouth next nearly made Kendrick choke. “It's almost New Year. Leave all of your work to Kendrick for now, Cayden. That way, you'll have more time to keep me and the kids company. Let's go on a holiday to Miralaea. Doesn't that sound good?”

Kendrick was rendered speechless.
