The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 108

Chapter 108

Suddenly, Rosalie knew the truth. She thought, “Perhaps the purpose they called me here is just to pay for Wilma’s medical expenses. And if I’m guessing correctly, perhaps these people in front of me have already been planning for a while regarding what to say to me later.”

As soon as Luke finished speaking, Daniel said immediately, “Dad, we don’t have any money. I even don’t have the money to let my son Henry marry now. Otherwise, why would Henry still remain unmarried until now?”

“That’s right, Dad. We really don’t have money!” Edward quickly added and then turned to Rosalie bitterly, “Rosalie, if we hadn’t been so poor at the beginning, I wouldn’t have thought about marrying you into the Foster family back then.”

“So, just because you’re poor, you can get me married to a dimwit? Is it that whoever is poor is right?” Rosalie said coldly.

Edward froze, while Daniel looked discontented and said, “Your two cousins haven’t got married until now. They’re the ones who are supposed to continue the Lopez family’s lineage. Your granny is so kind to you usually. Don’t you want to repay her? Besides, you’ve been in jail. It’s good enough that someone even agreed to marry you!”

“It’s Granny who treats me well, but not you guys. Why should I repay you with myself” Rosalie said, thinking it was ridiculous.

Some people were always selfish and only felt that others should give them a lot of benefits, but they never thought about what they had given others.

“It’s a good idea. Since you have said that it’s your granny who is kind to you, shouldn’t you bear some of the medical expenses now that she’s hospitalized and needs a lot of medical expenses?” Sarah looked like she could finally speak her thoughts. There was even a hint of satisfaction on her face as if her words could somehow corner Rosalie.

Rosalie was not surprised that Sarah would say so. She just stood there quietly, watching what else Sarah would say next. Sarah continued, “Rosalie, actually, at that time, if you had told us earlier that you knew a big shot, we wouldn’t have made such a misunderstanding. Everyone just wants you to have someone to rely on in the future!”

“Rosalie, how did you get lucky to know a big shot? Did that man know you were in prison: You aren’t hiding something from that man, are you?” Fiona asked sourly.

Fiona had never seen that man, but she heard Daniel and Edward describe the scene at that time and the man’s appearance. Fiona just felt extremely jealous after listening to them and thought, “What right does Rosalie have to be protected by such a big shot? She’s a woman who had been in jail. Shouldn’t men disdain and look down on her?”

Rosalie just smiled coldly and remained silent.

Sarah sneered at Fiona and said to Rosalie. “If you have a backer, it’s your ability. You must be not short of money, right? Then why don’t you bear all the medical expenses for your granny? Besides, you should also reimburse us for our daily car fare and meal expenses when we come to the hospital. Wilma is like this now. All her basic needs have to be taken care of by others, and we need to hire a caregiver for her. In this way, at least 40,000 dollars a year is needed. If Wilma’s medical expenses were to rise again, then it would be calculated separately at that time.”

“Let’s do it like this, then. After Sarah finished speaking, Luke concluded, “Rosalie, you can transfer 40,000 dollars into Daniel’s bank card later.

“I didn’t say yes,” Rosalie said without trying to be polite at all.

Everyone’s face changed immediately. Sarah blurted out, “What do you mean by that?”

“That means I’m not paying 40,000 dollars” Rosalie said coldly. Tve never told you I know a big shot. Granny is also your mother. Aunt Sarah. It should be reasonable for you to take care of her. But you’re asking me, who’s her granddaughter, to pay for your car fares and lost income. Don’t you think it’s ridiculous?”

“Rosalie, it’s wrong for you to say so. That day, Daniel and Edward both watched that big shot carry you out of the Foster

residence.”

“I don’t know anything. I only remember that Uncle Daniel and Uncle Edward drugged me, and then I was in delirium.” Rosalie said mockingly, “Maybe others are helpful and couldn’t stand to watch someone plotting against their own niece like that. Uncle Daniel and Uncle Edward, why don’t you tell me who the big shot is so I can thank him?”

Luke and his children exchanged helpless glances. They thought, “She doesn’t know him? Is that possible?”

“Rosalie, no matter what, you must pay the money. Your granny got sick from anger because you asked the police to arrest Daniel, Edward, and Sarah,” Luke said.

“Granddad, you’re not right. I am the victim and the police are impartial. If Uncle Daniel, Uncle Edward, and Aunt Sarah hadn’t set me up to marry a dimwit before, these things wouldn’t have happened. If you think I’ve harmed Uncle Daniel and the others, why don’t we go to the police station again and find out?”

Rosalie said calmly, but Luke’s expression changed. Meanwhile, those who had been locked up by the police before trembled subconsciously.

They thought. “It took a long time for us to get out of the police station. If we went there to “find out again, what if we were

locked up again? Who knows when we will be able to come out?”
