The CEO's Return (Tracy and Alex) novel Chapter 41

Alex

I didn't feel comfortable about conversing with someone I know likes my wife, he is my business partner, and liking my wife makes it difficult for me to talk to him outside business, but I don't want to make Tracy mad about anything.

"Hello."

"Hey," I replied standing beside him, we were both looking towards the car and it took a few seconds before he spoke again.

"So, you are her husband?"

"Yes, I am," I said folding my arms in a way that my ring finger is showing.

"Did you know? Whenever I see Tracy in school I keep seeing the same thing, I always saw my future wife." He said and I clenched my fist.

"She was always quiet, had very few friends, she was very humble, and I'd always say the same thing, that's my future wife, she is mine." He said pointing towards the car, I wanted to say something to hurt him but I decided against it

"She is married now you see? To you."

"Yes, she is."

"I can be her second husband you know?" He said and I dropped my hands immediately facing him.

"Just joking." He said smiling

"You best be joking," I said facing the car again.

"Of course, I know she is your wife, she is married, the only reason I'll get a chance to marry her is if she is single, I hope you take care of her, you have to take care of her."

"You don't have to tell me, I'm her husband and I'll do everything I can to protect her."

"I like that, make sure you watch her, she just had a large bowl of ice cream, she finished it alone, her stomach might ache."

"My wife is always with me almost twenty-four hours a day, I'll be watching her thank you, now if you'll excuse me, my wife and kids are waiting for me."

"Wait, the kids are here with you?" He asked looking kind of shocked, maybe he was shocked and was trying to cover it up.

"Yeah, they are, probably playing in the car."

"Oh, bye then." He said walking towards his car, I joined Tracy and the kids in the car.

Tracy looked pale, she was looking like she was going to jump out of the car at any time.

"What's wrong?" I asked

"The kids said they saw Nora."

"Nora?, Where?, No way, I was outside facing the car and not even one person passed, Micheal? Micheal?."

"Yes daddy" They replied

"Where did you see aunty Nora?" I asked and they pointed towards where I and Sam were standing.

"Maybe you are confused, aunty Nora is not around," I said and they nodded

"You know it was aunty Nora right?" Michelle asked Micheal in a whisper and he nodded.

"They are probably confused, or did you see anyone?" I asked Tracy and she shook her head.

"That's why you should not be worried, okay?"

"Okay."

"Let's go home and have pizza for dinner," I said and the kids jubilated while Tracy smiled.

We ordered pizza when we got home, it took about twenty minutes for the pizza to arrive because the kids insisted on getting pizza from their favorite pizza place.

"Are we getting orange juice mummy?" Micheal asked

"No."

"Why?" I and the kids asked

"Too much junk is not good for you, you've had orange juice every day this week."

"Mum?, Please." Micheal, please

"Please mummy," Michelle added and I'm sure Tracy couldn't resist their charm because she sighed then nodded, the kids gave themselves a high five making me smile, they know what they are doing.

We had dinner and tucked the kids in because they looked exhausted, we went to our room.

"You look tired too, how about you shower first?"

"Thank you."

She went to shower but before she came out her phone beeped multiple times indicating she had messages.

"You have messages," I said the moment came out of the bathroom.

"Oh thank you." She sat at the edge of the bed trying to check the message while she used a towel to dry her head.

"I'll help you with that," I said collecting the towel from her.

"Thank you." I dried her hair while she checked her messages, she sighed at some point making me stop drying her hair.

"Is everything okay?." I asked and she handed me her phone, I read the message, it was a message from Sam telling her she doesn't have any problem with her being married to me, and that he'll like to have dinner with her tomorrow, just to discuss some things, and he ended with a message saying he doesn't have any hard feeling about our marriage.

"So are you going?"

"Alex." She called and I knew she was going.

"It is dry enough, use the hairdryer now, I'm going to go shower," I said then left for the bathroom.

I took extra time showering before I went back into the room but Tracy was standing in the middle of the room waiting.

"Babe." She said coming closer, she wrapped her hands around my neck, I couldn't resist her, I wrapped my own hands around her waist.

"Please don't be mad at me."

"I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the fact that you are having dinner with him tomorrow."

"I feel bad for him that's why I'm having dinner with him, he was very nice to me in school."

"Stop." I groaned burying my face in the crook of her neck, she chuckled hugging me tighter

"Let's stop talking about the whole thing, after all, it is just one dinner, I eat with him then I leave there, speaking about eating, I'm famished."

"Tracy!"

"What?

"Are you sure you are fine?"

"Why are you asking?"

"Tracy, the way you've been eating is scaring me, should I be worried about something?"

"No sir, nothing to worry about, I'm just hungry, a cookie or two would do."

"How about I feed you something else, better than cookies."

"Look at that mischievous smile, what do you have in mind sir, I'd like to see you pitch your idea."

"Talking takes too much time, how about I just show you what I have in mind?"

"I'm game." She said and I lifted, I placed a light kiss on her lips, before placing her on the bed.

"Now the presentation begins."
