The Devil Wore A Brown Suit novel Chapter 41

Perdition had little time to get everyone safe.   She wasn’t sure how she would handle Sam. She planned to get Angie and Mrs. Bee as far away from New Orleans as possible with the newborns.

She also had to deal with Mayhem, Tiffany, JJ, and Chaos. She planned to use Chaos to distract Jaza. She wasn’t sure how much she could depend on him. Jaza had to die.

She knew there would be hell to pay, but it had to be done. What was the worst they could do to her? Send her to the void. She wasn’t afraid, and there was no one as powerful as her. Not even her brother could come close to her power.

She could feel it growing every day. Now she just had to figure out exactly how to use it to save her friends. Her powers were strong but raw. She still had difficulty focusing on just using her power and not it taking over. She knew she needed to focus right now.

“Sam,” she said as she let herself into his room.  “I need to see you.”

He did not answer. Maybe he was still sleeping, she thought. “Sam,” she said softly again.

She let herself in the room he and Angie were sharing. He was gone. “Damn!”

Perdition rushed out of the room and down to see Key and Camilla Dawn. He has to be here somewhere. He was in no shape to just walk away unless he had help.

She was at the door to see Camilla Dawn and Key when she heard a voice behind her, “Izzy.” It said.

She turned around. She couldn’t believe her eyes. It was her father. “How are you here?” she asked.

“I left Izrael in charge long enough to help you,” he said.

          “How?” she asked.

“You cannot kill him, my sweet child.” He said.

“I have to save her and the babies, father, you don’t understand,” Perdition says.

“I do understand and I am here to help.” He says. “Sam and your friends are safe. I had them moved to the cabin. Luce and Koko are handling it.”

          “But why?” Perdition asks.

“I want to be with your mother. Izzy, I miss her. You and Daniel are grown. I can go with her now.” He says.

“But who will oversee the underworld?” she asks. “Not Damnation. He is not right for the job.”

“No Izzy, not Daniel.” He says. He wraps his arms around his daughter. “I am sorry, but it is you. Mayhem, your twins, Sarge, and you will oversee the underworld for the next 2000 years. I have arranged for Samuel and Braden to be released into your care. Camilla Dawn will be your handmaiden.”

The earth rumbles in the courtyard.  The mighty demon Bowen appears with an entourage of demons surrounding him. He leaves them in the courtyard, bringing with him only a crown.

He places the crown upon Perdition’s head and kneels before her. “My queen.”

Lucifer kisses his daughter on the head. “Hell waits for you, my queen.”
