The Innocent Wife of Scheming President novel Chapter 88

The room was amazingly quiet. It was exactly not a good news.

Dave also felt that Olive was suspicious, but he could not speak out where was strange. It seemed that she was concealing something.

"Mr Hoyle..."

Alan waved his other hand. "You go and help me find out another thing. Who let Hengdu's finance settle her salary, and give me the answer tomorrow."

"Yes." Dave responded and went out.

Alan got up, took off his clothes and went into the bathroom. He filled a jar of hot water and drowned himself.

There was someone who delivered the instructions in the name of him. Perhaps that person was her misgiving.

But Olive, if you were threatened, why didn't you tell me that? Didn't you believe that I could protect you with my ability now? Or Was someone threatening you with me?

The only truth would be revealed one day.

Olive sneezed several times at home and attracted the attention of the whole family.

Father Steele touched her forehead. "Did you catch a cold?"

"No." Olive shrugged her nose, took the paper towel her daughter handed over and wiped her nose, then kissed her lovely daughter on her face.

"Isn't it that someone is missing you?" Chloe laughed.

"It will be fine if nobody scolds me. Hey, you are still at home at this time. Don't you have to go to work?" Olive asked.

Chloe said, "Recuperate and build up strength today."

Mother Steele took a cup of hot tea to Olive and sat down, then she said. "Chloe, those who work in the office still have one or two days to rest a week. You only have one day to rest for half a month. You are capable of supporting your life, so you should have more rest in the future."

Chloe said with a smile, "Mom, I am not as capable as Olive who can work hard and be appreciated wherever she works. I am also used to being idle so that I can't stand being bound by the rules and regulations of the office. But I can not be idle and do nothing, just living and eating here freely all the time, can I?"

Mother Steele glanced at her. "You have not lived and eaten here freely. You have taken Annie to and from school every day, and you have done the housework. You are not a lazy person. I don't mean that being a singer in bars is shamed. I am just afraid that it will do harm to your health if you sing so late every day."

"Godmother, I know you're the kindest to me." Chloe held her neck and kissed her, then loosened her. "Oh..."

She went to the room and took out her wallet, turned out a pile of money, and handed it to Mother Steele. "This is the cost of living this month. If it is not enough, I will give you more next month."

Olive said with a smile, "Did Ivy pay out your wages?"

Chloe laughed, "It is true that it is comfortable that spending my own money."

Olive said, "No wonder you bought so much food for Annie and clothes for our parents today."

Mother Steele pinched the money in her hand and weighed it. Thinking that the silly girl might have given most of the money to her, she stuffed it back. "Chloe, you keep the money yourself. When you left the Lynn family, you didn't take money. You should keep more money in case that there is something urgent happening."

Chloe took the orange which Ann handed and chewed. "Mom, I will not have anything urgent to deal with. You just receive it. I'm very happy to eat and live with you. If I live in other place outside alone, the money will be far from enough to pay the food and rental."

After that, she stuffed the money bake to mother Steele.

Of course, mother Steele refused to receive the money, "There is no shortage of money at home now. The room will be empty if you don't live. Besides, you can not eat too much and usually you also buy the vegetables. If you have spare money, you can save it for yourself."

"Mom, this is not right. Olive gives you the money for the cost of daily life every month. You receive her money but refuse mine. Don't you take me as a daughter?" Chloe used her final reckoning.

"What are you saying? You are all my daughters."

"Then you should treat us equally." Chloe held mother Steele's arm and acted as a spoiled child.

Olive couldn't help shivering and feeling that Chloe was so nauseating. "Well, stop being so polite. Mom, you can receive half of the money and save it as her dowry."

"Receive it then." Father Steele also said.

Olive did not expect she would see Ophelia so soon. Although she occasionally saw her in some magazines, in which she was leaning against Alan just like a lovely bird, it was the first time in five years that she saw her in the reality so truly.

In the early morning, at the entrance of the hotel, her eyes were hidden by the brown window glass. She saw Ophelia plunging into Alan's arms like a butterfly.

They were the perfect match.

Alan's voice was gentle, "Why did you come here?"

Ophelia held his waist, complained in her delicate voice which sounded like a silver bell, "No way, you don't have time to get back by plane to accompany me for Christmas, so I have to come over by plane to accompany you for the holiday, lest that you will be lonely."

Alan smiled and looked very gentle. "How can you still look like a little child?"

Child? Olive sneered. Look, a man would always be confused by appearances. He would never know that under the beauty's face was the a cruel and indifferent heart.

She didn't want to see this scene any more. So she turned the car to the entrance of the parking lot and disappeared quickly.

Alan settled Ophelia well and looked at the watch. "You have caught the plane early in the morning. You must not have had a good sleep last night. You have a good rest first. I'll deal with some business and then I'll ask you to have dinner together at noon."

"OK." Ophelia stepped forward and tidied his collar. "Go ahead. Just like you said, I'm really sleepy."

When Alan left, she looked grim and walked out of the room.

However, Olive thought that if this was her hotel, she would not accept Ophelia to check in. Unfortunately, she was only an employee, working for salary, and can only treat customers as God.

But Ophelia was not her God.
