The Peremptory Casey Davies novel Chapter 66

"Wow, this car is so beautiful. It's a range rover. It must be very expensive."

"Yes. I heard it costs more than one million. This is a luxury car."

"It's much better than my car. I'm really envious. I wonder who this car is coming for."

A group of people were talking about it and were all amazed by the appearance of the range rover.

Edith also glanced at the car. The sense of loss in her eyes was even intense. The car was expensive. Now, she couldn't afford a car of more than 100,000, let alone such a luxury car.

"Who do you think this car is picking up?" suddenly, someone asked.

"Who knows? I don't know who the lucky one is. But I know it is not here to pick up Edith. I'm afraid her husband, who is a trash, can't afford such an expensive car in his life."

"You are right. It is impossible for this car to pick up Edith."

They burst into laughter.

At this time, the window of car slowly rolled down. Casey, who was sitting in the driver's seat, appeared.

Edith had planned to turn around and go. But she was stunned when she saw Casey sitting in the driver's seat.

Many of Edith's colleagues had met Casey. So, they were shocked to see that the man in the car was Casey.

Casey smiled and then said to Edith, "Honey, get into the car. I am here to pick you home."

Edith stood there for a long time and did not respond.

Then, Casey personally got out of the car, opened the car door and made a gesture of invitation to Edith.

Edith walked over blankly. It was just like a dream and she sat on the passenger seat.

Her colleagues were all staring jealously at Edith as she got into the car, their eyes filled with resentment.

Casey got into the car with a smile and drove all the way to home with Edith.

"Isn't Casey a waste? How can he afford such an expensive car?"

"My God, that's a luxury car which costs a million. At that time, we even laughed at Edith. And now he is driving a luxury car."

"Who knows if it is he who bought the car? Maybe he borrowed it."

On the way, Edith recovered from a state of shock and said to Casey, "My vehicle is still in the company."

"I'll ride it back tomorrow." Casey said with a smile.

Edith turned to look at Casey and asked, "Where did you get this car? If it's borrowed from someone else, you should give it back quickly. "

She still didn't believe that Casey bought the car.

"I bought this car. I can drive you to work in this car from now on." Casey smiled and said.

"You bought it!" Edith exclaimed. She had thought Casey was just joking yesterday. Unexpectedly, he actually bought a luxury car worth more than 1 million.

"But… This car is so expensive. I heard that it costs more than one million." Edith said.

"It's OK. A million or so is nothing." Casey replied.

Edith was speechless. How exactly rich this man was!

Until now, Edith remembered that question she had always wanted to ask Casey.

"Casey, how much money do you have?"

Casey turned to look at Edith and said, "Well, it's enough to support you for the rest of your life anyway."

Seeing that Casey didn't give a positive answer, Edith didn't ask further. However, if he only had enough money to support her for the rest of her life, he should not have much money left.

In Edith's opinion, it wouldn't cost much money to support her for the rest of her life.

Edith thought to herself that Casey seemed not to have much money left after he bought this car.

She was a little moved. Because Casey seemed to be very rich during this period of time and had spent all his money for her.

However, what she didn't know was that what Casey meant by supporting her for rest of her life was that it would allow her to live blithely like a queen, without worrying about food and clothing.

Hearing Edith ask this question, Casey suddenly coughed twice and said, "Well… Do you want to confiscate my private property money? If you want, I can give all to you."

Edith was at a loss whether to cry or to laugh and didn't expect Casey to think so.

"That's your money. I won't ask for it. Besides, you don't have much left, right? My mother is not kind to you. You'd better keep it by yourself." Edith said.

Casey didn't speak anymore and drove the range rover back home.

They went upstairs together. As soon as they entered the house, they saw Amara and Nicolas staring at the door with gloomy faces.

Remi and her family sat in the living room. Seeing Casey and Edith back, they all stood up.

"Casey is back. We came to see the car you bought. Yesterday, you said you were going to take the car today. So, do you drive the car back?" Remi asked with a smile.

Amara immediately stepped forward and said, "Remi, don't listen to Casey. Don't you know who he is? He was joking with you yesterday."

"Yes. Casey was just kidding you. How could he really buy a car?" Nicolas added.

"So, it was just a joke. I had looked forward to seeing what the difference is between Casey's car and the car Brian bought." Remi's husband was disappointed and said.

"Casey, you didn't buy a car. Why did you talk nonsense? You made us go for nothing." Brian said to Casey unkindly.

Amara and Nicolas's faces were extremely gloomy. They planned to teach Casey a lesson later when Remi's family left.

Edith looked at the scornful eyes of Remi's family and suddenly felt that it didn't matter. After all, Casey really drove the car back.

"I've driven the car back. It's downstairs." Casey said.

Everyone was shocked. Amara and Nicolas didn't believe it. Amara glared at Casey and said, "What are you talking about? Where did you drive the car? Do you think we are fools?"

"Mom, I really drove the car back. If you don't believe it, you can go down and have a look." Casey said.

"Yes, Mom. It's just downstairs." Edith added.

"So, you really bought one. Let's go and see what kind of car Casey bought." Remi said with a smile.

Then Remi's family walked out and went downstairs.

Amara glared at Casey and said, "You son of a bitch! I don't care where you get a car to fool us. I'll have to take you a lesson later."

With that, she went out with Nicolas.

Casey shrugged and went downstairs with Edith.

When they arrived downstairs, Remi's family looked around, then pointed to a worn-out Passat not far away and said, "Casey, is this the car you bought?"

"So, you bought a second-hand Passat. I have thought you bought a good car. It's a waste of time for me to go there." Brian said with disdain.

"Yes, Casey. I have thought that you bought a new car. How could you buy a second-hand car?" Remi said with disdain.

Amara and Nicolas all felt embarrassed. Amara directly scolds Casey, "Why did you drive such a worn-out car back home? I wouldn’t take this kind of car even if you give it to me. You spent money to buy it. Shame on you!"

Casey was not anxious at all. Instead, he reached out to point to the range rover on the other side and said, "The car I bought is over there, not this one."

Everyone looked at the direction of Casey's finger. They were surprised to see the brand-new range rover.

"This car… Did Casey buy it?" Remi said in disbelief.

They walked towards the range rover, carefully observed the car, and were all shocked.

"Casey, is this the car you bought?" Amara was a little unconvinced and confirmed with Casey.

Casey nodded and said, "Yes. I just took it today. The receipt is still in the car."

When Remi's family heard Casey's words, they couldn't help feeling jealous. This car was obviously better than Brian's. Naturally, they were unbalanced.

However, Casey had no job and his status at home was so low. How could he afford to buy such a car?

So, Remi's family felt that Edith borrowed money to buy the car to save Casey's face.

Remi had thought that Edith had just been promoted for a short time and certainly didn't have much money. This car was just a bit better looking. But in reality, it must be far worse than Brian's.

Brian was staring at the range rover in shock at this time. He knew the brand of the car. Moreover, he had heard that the cheapest range rover cost more than 1 million.

Because he had never seen such a good car, he just watched the car and didn't want to talk to his parents.

In order to save face, Remi turned to ask Casey, "Casey, you should have spent a lot of money to buy this car, right?"

Casey laughed and said, "Not much."

Seeing Casey say so, Remi was sure that Casey's car was certainly cheap. This car was bought for over a hundred thousand at most.

"This car looks very good. But it's not as good as Brian's. Brian's car costs more than 200,000. You probably spent no more than that. It's not a good car. I'll ask Brian to drive his car here and let you see what a car costs 200,000 looks like." Remi said proudly.

Casey smiled and did not say anything.

As Brian heard Remi's words, he immediately said to her, "Mom, are you crazy? How can my car compare with this one?"

Remi was stunned and said, "Your car costs more than 200,000. His car only costs over 100,000. Why can't yours compare to his?"

"Who told you that his car just costs more than 100,000? This is a range rover, which costs more than 1 million at least!"
