The Supreme God novel Chapter 320

The tall corpse followed the tracks that Austin and Violet had made, and entered the cavern behind them. People who were inside another cavern instantly felt where the corpse went.

"The corpse general we sent in has found the whereabouts of the two intruders. They have intruded into our corpse storage warehouse.

All our standby resources are stored in the depths of that warehouse. Those resources are our backup plan to rebuild our sect and get our revenge.

If the intruders find them, we're going to be in a hell of trouble," one of them remarked in a concerned tone.

"You're right. We need to kill these two intruders as soon as possible.

Even if they don't take the resources, we can't let them leave this place.

If they go and tell about us to their friends, our base will be exposed and there are going to be hordes of people here to steal our resources.

There's no way our leaders will let us off the hook in that case. Look what happened to the Tomb Owner! If we don't stop them, that's what's going to happen to us."

"Well, I don't think we have too much to worry about. The corpse general has already found them, and will wake up the sleeping corpses in the corpse storage warehouse. They shall deal with them.

There are hundreds of corpses there. I don't think the intruders will be able to survive their onslaught."

Upon hearing that, the rest of them felt much relieved. After all, even a cultivator at the Mysterious Realm wouldn't be able to deal with hundreds of corpses easily, let alone steal things from right under their noses.

They guessed that the two intruders were cultivators with little cultivation base and were here to look for treasures after hearing about the story of the Ghost Sect.

After all, cultivators at the Mysterious Realm were all supposed to be quite wise and cautious and would not try to come here just after hearing a few stories.

"Do we need to go there and check on them?" one of them asked.

"No need for that. Right now, we'd better hurry up and refine the Ghost-devouring Flag.

Once that is done, its force will be invincible, and we will be unstoppable. At the next stage, we will be able to kill a cultivator at the premium stage of Earth Realm effortlessly.

If it weren't for the fact that we had spent too much time refining the corpse generals, the Ghost-devouring Flag would have already been refined. But it doesn't matter.

Once the Ghost-devouring Flag is refined, our base will be extremely powerful and then, no one will be able to leave this valley alive without our consent."

The rest of them nodded and began to refine the Ghost-devouring Flag with undivided attention.

Four people were engaged in this activity and all of them were middle-aged men.

They were sitting on the ground at the four corners of the cavern—east, south, west and north. A rectangular flag with seven colors was laid on the ground in the middle of that gathering. This was the Ghost-devouring Flag.

They also had numerous jade bottles with big bellies and thin necks laid out in front of them. The bottles seemed to be shaking as if there were living things inside them.

"Guys, focus! Say the spell!" the man in the east corner shouted. The rest of them seemed to be fired up from his voice and began to utter some kind of weird spell simultaneously.

Once they began, the Ghost-devouring Flag suddenly started to move.

It rose from the ground and floated in the air, as if four people had grabbed its corners and lifted it up.

After a while, the four men stopped uttering the spell. They reached out and took the lid off the jade bottles before them one by one.

"Ghost Ancestor, please refine these ghosts!" the company shouted out together, almost in the form of a chant. Suddenly, the flag which was still floating in the air started to shake violently, sending out several streaks of evil power.

At the same time, beams of light escaped the jade bottles and scurried around the cavern, trying to find a way outside.

If Austin were here, he would have recognized that the beams of light were ghosts. They used to be cultivators, and the members of the Ghost Sect had killed them and trapped their ghosts.

These ghosts wanted to flee from the cavern. However, the Ghost-devouring Flag, still floating in the air, seemed to sense their intentions and sent out several beams of dazzling seven-colored light. These beams wove themselves into colorful nets, which trapped the ghosts and pulled them into the flag itself.

Instantly, the cavern was filled with the pained wailing, pleading, crying, and moaning of ghosts.

Even after the ghosts were taken into the Ghost-devouring Flag, they continued to struggle. The Ghost-devouring Flag seemed to be covered with numerous ghosts' faces; some looked angry, and some looked frightened. Obviously, they had not been trapped inside this flag with their consent, and wanted to leave.

The four men, however, remained calm and composed, and didn't seem to have the slightest sympathy for the ghosts.

They kept on removing the lids of the jade bottles to release the ghosts, and the Ghost-devouring Flag kept on trapping them.

It needed to devour quite a lot of ghosts to improve itself. The cavern was like a living hell!

Meanwhile, Austin and Violet had reached the depths of the cavern by that time and found a smaller cavern.

They couldn't help but laugh out loud at the sight that greeted their eyes.

There were loads of vital energy crystals and various kinds of precious ores in there, theirs for the taking.

Almost one third of the vital energy crystals in here were superior vital energy crystals.

They were all piled up on the ground, forming several hills. Judging by a glance, each of these hills rose up to more than a hundred feet. Austin looked around and guessed that a single crystal hill contained at least four million vital energy crystals.

Austin and Violet stood in front of these vital energy crystals, and reached out their hands to touch them, smiling from ear to ear.

The gnome was very excited too. He jumped off Austin's shoulder and bounced about like a child.

Austin estimated that there were more than ten million vital energy crystals in the cavern and at least five or six million superior vital energy crystals.

'Jeez!'

To be frank, Austin was actually quite rich at the moment, but what he was seeing right now was a fortune that he had never dreamed of. His heart started beating rapidly.

He and Violet looked at each other with surprise and delight in their eyes.

At this moment, the gnome stood before Austin, and held his head high. He looked as proud as a peacock. Evidently, he was trying to remind Austin that full credit went to him for finding this place. He pointed to Austin's Space Ring, giving him a wink.

Austin immediately got his point, and took out two of the divine vital energy crystals he had gotten from the previous round cavern. Divine vital energy crystals contained even more energy than superior vital energy crystals. He gave the crystals to the gnome and stroked his head.

The gnome took the divine vital energy crystals and swallowed them without hesitation in delight. After that, he patted his belly, satisfied with his prize.
