Maisie smiled. “How much do you want as compensation?”

“At least $800,000.”

Cherie picked it up right away. “Extortion. The minimum sentence is three years, but if it’s for an amount as much as $800,000, I’m guessing maybe 15 years.”

“How is this extortion? You’re just slandering us!” Mrs. Winters was anxious.

Based on the law, if Wynona’s death is my fault, and the court decides that I should compensate you $800,000, I’ll do it without hesitation. But if the court decides that I’m not related to her death, won’t I have the right to reject your claims?”

Mrs. Winters was rendered speechless and looked horrified

Maisie calmly continued. “If you think that I’m hiding behind the Goldmanns and bullying you thanks to Nolan, I’m afraid that Nolan would be the one who would be speaking to you.
