Time Travel to Become Your Sweetheart novel Chapter 144

He didn't remember since when Jane had changed so much that he suspected that she wasn't the same person that he knew.

"I thought you were another Jane."

William said in a soft voice, but startling Jane.

William was really sharp. He could tell it! But she could not admit it.

"A sea change. It's good, isn't it?"

The warm air from the hairdryer made her cozy. She wanted to roll on the sofa.

The sofa was narrow. She could only lean on William.

"Don't move!"

William stiffened and quickly felt the sexual drive. Even if she wanted to flirt with him, it was not the time. Dayton was still here!

"Daddy, let me do this!"

Dayton walked around the sofa, wanting to help Jane dry her hair.

"Dayton, do you know how to order takeout? With daddy's phone."

They had not eaten breakfast. He still had a meeting later, and he was most worried about Jane.

"Yes."

Dayton ran to get his phone that was charging.

After her hair was dry, Jane narrowed her eyes and hugged William's waist tightly.

"Janie?"

William sighed. Jane clung to him, making him hot.

But he couldn't satisfy himself now.

Jane adjusted her posture and fell asleep comfortably on William's lap.

"Daddy, your phone!"

Dayton had ordered the takeout. He quickly told William when he received Frederic's phone call.

"Dayton, bring the phone to Daddy."

Jane had just fallen asleep on his lap. There were shadows under her eyes. She did not sleep last night and now needed to rest.

"Mr. William, the meeting will start in twenty minutes."

Frederic was in a hurry. This was the first meeting about starting the underwater hotel project. It was what Mr. William cared about the most. William was a workaholic. He normally had arrived at the company at this time. Was he stuck in traffic?

As the special assistant, Frederic called to remind him.

"You will preside over today's meeting on behalf of me."

If William stood up, Jane would immediately wake up. She finally fell asleep, and it would be difficult to fall asleep again if she was disturbed.

He instructed Frederic with a serious face.

Frederic widened his eyes and found something abnormal.

Perhaps William had quarreled with Jane, so he was not in the mood to work.

He was curious and wanted to inquire about it, but William quickly hung up.

What did he say? Did he ask Frederic to preside over the meeting? Frederic was worried. He was not prepared at all!

William set his phone to silent mode in case that Jane would be disturbed.

When the takeout arrived, the security guard sent it to them. He looked inside as the door was opened.

Dayton took the takeout with a small cold face and then slammed the door.

The guard was speechless. He was just like his father!

"Daddy, can I be with mommy?"

Dayton blinked his eyes and wanted William to eat, so he could stay with his mommy.

"No."

William decisively refused, warning Dayton not to disturb Jane.

An hour later, William's legs grew numb. He gritted his teeth and remained motionless.

Jane slept soundly until the dusk.

Only then did William stand up and carry Jane to the bed.

He didn't go to the company today and had got too much work. There was a lot to do at home. Ramiro's parents happened to be nearby.

William asked them to take care of Dayton for a day.

"Daddy, I'm not here. You need to take care of Mommy!"

Dayton lingeringly left although William had promised he would.

"OK. Go."

After Dayton left, the house immediately became quiet.

William dealt with the work in the study. Several parts of Frederic's meeting minutes were not detailed, so he had to call him and make sure.

...

Jane was sick.

She had a fever in the evening.

She felt very uncomfortable.

She was very thirsty, but there was no water in her room. She struggled to get up in a daze. Then she forced her eyes open and walked out.

How long had she slept? She was groggy and had no idea.

After walking out of the room, she held onto the shelf on which there was a vase. She wanted to go to the kitchen.

Unexpectedly, she was too weak to walk straight, bringing down the shelf and vase.

Jane lost her balance and fell to the ground. The broken vase made a crisp sound.

"Janie?"

William was talking to Frederic on the phone. When he heard the noise, he opened the door. He was stunned by the scene and walked quickly to Jane.

What the hell was she doing?

Jane's hair was in a mess, and she was pitifully lying on the ground. Her eyes were half open and her lips pouted. The heavy shelf just fell over on her.

William strode to her and quickly pushed away the shelf. He carried Jane in his arms. As he touched her, he frowned.

He reached out and touched her forehead. It was hot.

Before sleeping, Jane had taken ibuprofen.

He thought that she was sleeping because she felt uncomfortable and it was the side effect of the medicine. But now, she did not feel better but catching a fever.

"Water..." Jane was thirsty.

She couldn't even open her eyes as she grabbed something. She wanted to drink water.

Jane was unconsciously touching William's face. He grabbed her hand with a cold face.

She did not care about herself. He did not know if he was angry with himself or Jane.

For the whole day, he didn't notice. Nor did Jane.

William carried Jane back to her room and fed her water. But Jane had a high fever. Half of the water ran out of the corners of her mouth.

William frowned and paused for a moment. Then he held the water in his mouth and fed it to her.

They were kissing, but he did not have the drive. There was only worry in his eyes. In the quiet room, he could only hear the sound of swallowing. Jane in his arms gradually quieted down, but she was still hot.

William put down Jane softly and picked up his phone to call Robert.

He asked Robert to arrive within 30 minutes.

"There is no traffic jam now."

William said clearly, but Robert thought he had heard it wrong.

It was not about the traffic jam. He was at home now!

It took him 30 minutes to arrive. But he needed time to put on clothes!

Jane's face was burning red, and there were love bites of him on her neck. It showed how hard he had been.

William lowered his eyes and cooled Jane down with ice.

Five minutes later, her temperature still did not drop.
