Trapped with a Lawyer novel Chapter 175

They walked to the fresh food section and picked up some tomatoes. Ella turned around and said, "I don't want to be with you in secret." She was trying to get away from him, from the man who was cruel enough to make her go through an abortion.

"Be my girl then and I'll protect you." He pushed the cart and stopped in front of the fish and shrimp section.

Their conversation circled back to the beginning. Ella didn't bother to argue with him so she picked some shrimp and other types of seafood. Then they proceeded to the second floor of the supermarket for more items.

As Ella was watching, Samuel picked expensive toothbrushes and threw them into the cart.

'Aren't there new toothbrushes at my place?' Ella thought. When she was carried into the bathroom by him the night before, she could faintly remember seeing him brush his teeth.

"Did you buy the type with the hard bristles? You're stingy." He looked at her and shook his head. Then, he put his chosen toothbrushes back on the shelf and chose a different set of toothbrushes that were similar in colour.

... Why was she being stingy? The toothbrush she bought was not cheap at all. and allthough it was half the price he had just got, she only used it occasionally and didn't need to buy any expensive ones.

After walking around the entire supermarket and picking out what she needed, Ella accompanied Samuel to the beauty counter upstairs. Samuel wanted to buy some skin care products for himself.

Passing the facial mask aisle, Ella lingered off.

Samuel continued walking and speaking to himself, when he noticed that Ella had wandered off by herself. When he looked back, he found Ella was already in a shop.

He reluctantly shook his head and followed her, finding her selecting facial masks.

The sales assistant next to her was speaking to her about more expensive facial masks, but Ella refused.

Samuel looked at the price of the facial masks and found it was 888 for a pack of ten.

The facial mask worked in three ways, with caviar collagen to hydrate, ocean essence to moisturise and Himalayan cliff honey to nourish the skin.

"How many facial masks do you need?" He put down the facial mask in his hand and asked Ella, who was looking at another brand.

Ella thought about it. She was given some facial masks by advertisers, which were at her house, but there was none at the apartment, so she replied, "Maybe, a dozen or so..." She preferred to buy a lot at once and save them for later use.

Seeing that she had been looking at the hydrating facial mask, Samuel talked to the sales assistant next to her, "Please give me ten boxes of this product."

Ella was surprised to see Samuel pointing to the one with the 888 price tag. Ella quickly stopped him and said to the sales woman, "No, I'll just take this one. Please bring me a couple of this." She pointed to the pack of facial masks next to her, which were priced at 222, and pushed Samuel aside.

Was he crazy? She had a high level of consumption, but not so much to such a extent that a facial mask would cost nearly a thousand.

Samuel was displeased at her interruption, so he pushed her back and extended his hand, "We will take this one."

The beautiful blonde-haired saleswoman held back her excitement and confirmed to Samuel, "Sir, so you would like ten of them, right?"

"Yes." The man answered decisively and pushed Ella behind him again and again.

"All right, wait for a moment, please." The sales woman rushed to the warehouse to get the goods.

When the assistant left, Samuel let go. Ella scolded, "Mr. Shao, do you know that once you use this good mask, it's hard to use any other brand. And it becomes expensive, especially since I use a facial mask almost in a day or two. In a month I will use about twenty, maybe even thirty..."

"Your cosmetics will be handled by me from now on." Her cosmetics cost only a few hundred thousand a month. Of-course he could afford it.

Samuel's simple words stopped Ella's reprimand and then he continued to help her pick out other skin care products. After looking at a product for two minutes, he called another sales assistant, "Could you get me this skin care product from your warehouse, thank you."

"Ok, just a moment, please." Leaving Ella in stunned silence, the young shopping assistant rushed to the warehouse.

Looking at the set of skin care products Samuel pointed to, Ella opened her mouth in surprise when she saw the price was almost 90, 000.

... Ninety thousand dollars!

She remained speechless, thinking about how much she earned for every commercial she shoot.

Samuel took off Ella's sunglasses and could not refrain from laughing when he found Ella staring as if she had seen something incredible.

He turned his head and began to tease Ella, "I'll give you as much as you want as long as you stay with me for a week every month. What do you think?"

Looking at him, equally stunned, Ella replied, "What do you mean? Am I such a superficial woman in your eyes? Samuel?"

She calculated carefully. The facial masks were 8880 in entirety and the skincare set was 90, 000, which added up to approximately 100, 000.

So if she could stay with him for a week a month, she would have a lot of money, even as much money as she wanted.

"No, my girl is priceless." She couldn't be bought with money.

Ella felt a little better when she heard Samuel say that. "No, I can not. I'm making enough money every month to cover my expenses." The money she earned was enough money to cover Jane's expenses. She was getting busier and busier recently, so she found another nanny for her daughter.

The servant also had a four-year-old Anglo-American daughter who could play with Jane.

Samuel smiled. He was not in a hurry and had time to tempt Ella. "Your son is going to marry Harry's daughter. Won't you save some money for your son?"

Her son? Ella almost choked on her own saliva. Samuel was so fickle. Didn't he always say that it was his son, who had nothing to do with her?

"Aren't you going to save money for your son as a father?"

"No." Samuel answered decisively. Although he didn't mean it, he still said it just to mess with her.

... Ella was speechless and said helplessly, "Samuel, Jerry is your son. Why are you being so heartless?"

"Well, you caught me. I am a heartless man. It is enough for him to have you as a mother to love him." He also expected Ella to give him another daughter to make him happy.

Seeing Samuel so unkind, Ella wondered how Jerry had spent the last few years with him.

He made it sounded like she really need to save up money for her son to marry a wife.

But it was okay. It was enough for Samuel to admit that she was Jerry's mother! "Well, I would have to work hard to get acting and modelling contracts in the future." She said, decisively. Ella sighed deeply, her words making Samuel stunned in silence. The tables had turned.

Initially, he wanted to sell her the idea that she needed him to secure Jerry's future.

But now, she made it sounded like he was forcing her to work harder than before.
