Trapped with a Lawyer novel Chapter 174

Had Samuel flown across the ocean to America just to seduce her?

The man had dressed up before Ella came out from the bathroom. She found him engrossed in a call.

When she heard his words, Ella felt a little surprised.

He said, "No court hearings today. No need to report to me, you're in charge ."

Samuel paused and listened.

At the moment, Ella was standing behind him, dressed up. Samuel turned around and saw her. He covered the distance between them, grabbed her hand and proceeded to leave the bedroom, all the while he was still on the phone.

Ella wanted to take her hand away but he held her tightly, so she had no choice but to follow him.

When they passed through the living room, she pulled back Samuel and approached the table where she took her sunglasses and a disposable mask.

Samuel was very upset to see her dressing herself in such a way that nobody could recognize her.

Was it shameful to be with him?

Well, if she thought so, he would do as he pleased.

"Okay, it's up to you. Call you later!"

Samuel hang up the phone, closing the apartment door behind them.

Staring at him, Ella was hesitant about asking him how long he was going to stay.

Samuel noticed that she was looking at him, so he asked, "Yes?"

He opened the door of the Aston Martin and motioned her towards the passenger seat.

"Samuel, I'm ashamed of you!" Wearing a mask and sunglasses, Ella stared angrily at him while fastening her seat belt.

Samuel closed the door and got in the driving seat, "Ella, don't go too far?"

He turned towards her and gave her an evil lopsided grin, pulling her towards him. He took off the sunglasses and mask and framed her face with his hands.

Dragging them to the back of her neck, he pulled her closer for a kiss.

Ella was shocked at what he was doing. What was he doing? Did he think she was that easy?

Pushing Samuel away vigorously, Ella grabbed the mask and the sunglasses, "Samuel, why can't you just let me go!"

Samuel smiled peacefully, taking the sunglasses and the mask away from her. He helped her put them on before starting the car.

His change in demeanour confused and surprised Ella.

They stopped the car near a supermarket. When they got out, Samuel held onto her shoulder.

Ella felt uncomfortable as Samuel tightly held onto her.

"Samuel, what are you doing? What's the meaning of this?"

He gave her an evil smile. What was he doing? She would soon find it out.

Samuel lowered his head and whispered in her ear, "Guess."

Guess? Damn him!

How did she know what he was thinking? She was not a mind reader.

Arriving at the vegetable section, Samuel held the angry woman and said, "What are you going to cook for lunch?"

"Nothing!" She was too busy to cook.

"You must cook!"

"And I'm saying no! Samuel, who do you think you are? Um…" At lightning speed, Samuel took off her mask and kissed her before she finished her sentence.

There must be something wrong! Totally wrong! It was unlike him to be so lascivious.

Soon, Samuel let her go. Shortly after Ella was released, she hurriedly looked around to ensure that nobody was staring at them.

In America, people often kissed in public. It happened here everyday. So no-one looked at them.

Finding that no-one had noticed, Ella turned to him who was picking food if nothing happened. "Samuel, don't kiss me again, or I'll be angry!" She was serious.

"Okay. How to pick up the fresh vegetables?" Samuel responded with a question, shifting his attention back to the food. He ignored her sudden display of anger towards him.

Ella was too angry to pick vegetables. "The smaller, the better. The staler, the better." She said curtly, pointing at the smallest and ugliest broccoli to the man who knew nothing about cooking.

Looking in the direction Ella was pointing at, Samuel saw the stale broccoli. He squinted at her, impatiently and said, "Ella, don't fool me."

Honestly, he wasn't a good cook. But he was not such a fool that he believed the staler the vegetable the better it is to be used for cooking.

She sneered at him, which quickly disappeared, as Samuel teased her with another kiss, "Choose the green ones, without blemish."

"Do you need it for lunch?"

"I don't know."

"Well, I'm calling a chef who's going to cook for us. Let's go buy something else." It was fine if she didn't want to cook. Samuel retrieved his phone from the pocket to find the number.

He was not kidding, Ella thought.

Ella grabbed his phone and locked the screen. "No chef is needed. I'll cook."

He took the phone back and put it in his pocket in a pleasant mood.

Ella continued picking up vegetables such as lettuce. She grumbled, "Mr. Shao, will you let me go? I mean you flew all the way across the ocean just so you can eat at my place?!"

"Exactly. You've answered your own question." Samuel nodded his head to the affirmative.

He would make sure that she ate healthily during his stay. It would be better to cook at home than eating out.

"Let's buy some more vegetables." He took some food bags and gave them to her. He noticed that she had a fridge, so he wanted to make full use of the fridge where he planned to store sufficient food for several days.

"Why?" Ella didn't know why he suggested to buy a lot of food. At the thought of the call he made before they left home, Ella got worried that he would be staying with her for longer.

"Didn't you hear what I said on the phone in the apartment?" The man asked, standing next to her and putting food into the cart.

Ah, so that was his plan, Ella thought. What a living nightmare. Ella stared at the man, speechless. She was worried that if he lived with her, she wouldn't be able to go to the villa to visit Jane.

No way! She had to stop him.

"Samuel." She put the bags in the cart and approached him with a big smile.

The sudden change in her mood signalled to Samuel that she was planning on doing something.

Sure enough, Ella gave in and said sweetly, "I'm always busy. I'm afraid I can't take good care of you. Worse still, sometimes I will work late and sleep at my trailer at the studio. If so, you will be alone at home. How lonely would that be, right?"

"Absolutely. Very lonely. So you have to come to me every night." Samuel pointed to the vegetables, hoping she would pick them quickly.

After hearing what he said, Ella felt helpless. She sighed, putting the vegetables into the bags, "Samuel, we are divorced. How is this going to work?"

She really didn't understand him. How was it that he didn't believe or trust her but still kept coming to her?

"I want you. I told you before, but you said no. Well, it's okay. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink, right? I don't think it's bad for us to be together like this." When he finished, he put down the bags, took out tissue from his pocket and wiped his hand.

Like this? Although they were divorced, they still lived together like a couple. Even Samuel agreed with Ella, it was strange.
