Trapped with a Lawyer novel Chapter 190

Catherine almost fainted when they pushed her to the ground. Samuel stood there angry whilst Ella was shocked. How could she forget that Samuel was on Catherine's side?

Standing less than a meter from Samuel, she worked up a nerve and shouted at him, "Samuel, if you are feeling sorry for Catherine, me and you are over!"

She pointed at Samuel, with the broken glass dripping with Catherine's blood still in her hand.

It was a deliberate provocation towards Samuel.

Without glancing at Catherine, Samuel puffed out a cloud of smoke, took the broken glass from her and threw it in the dustbin near them.

Then he put his arm around her shoulder and said to the rest, "Let's get out of here!"

Five couples left the nightclub in their limousines, Leaving Catherine sitting on the ground without anybody to care for her.

Ella, Ella, Ella... She kept calling Ella's name in anger, her face awash with pain. Later, she went to a private hospital.

Five women, sitting next to their men who were driving, continued to chat animatedly in their Wechat group.

Lola typed 'We have to teach Catherine a lesson again.'

The rest of the four agreed.

'I will hold a party in a couple of days. You all should join and we will humiliate her in public.'

The home wrecker was hated by everyone, so the idea sounded like a good one.

Later on, the Wechat group went silent.

They all got home and were busy handling their family issues.

At The Royal Mansion.

Samuel was on top of Ella who was lying in the sofa. He was like a wolf, staring at its prey and ready to eat her.

"It seems that Mr. Shao feels sorry for Catherine. Is that right?" Ella challenged him, with a determined expression on her face. She reached to push him away from her.

She might as well have told Samuel the truth that she would not let Catherine and Emma lead a peaceful life. She was determined to teach them a lesson, whenever she saw them.

She thought he was pissed off because he had said nothing. However, Ella knew that if he got angry because of what she did to Catherine, she would get cross with him.

"Samuel, why do you treat me like this? On one hand, you feel sorry for Catherine; on the other hand, you insist on chasing me persistently..."

Suddenly, Samuel kissed her lips, preventing her from talking further. He had missed kissing her and taking in her scent.

She always tantalised him, most of the time unknowingly, and he knew he would regret not taking advantage of her proximity. He always wanted to make love to her. whenever they were alone in a room.

His kiss was passionate and eager, and soon Ella gave in to the heat of the moment.

"Ella, since you are back, don't ever think about leaving me again."

Ella sensed the undertones of a conspiracy at work in his voice.

She suddenly remembered that there was no good reason for Harry to sign her to his company and that Lola had asked her to join rather ambiguously. Her intuition told her that it was Samuel who engineered the plan to make her come back and work at Harry's company.

With that thought, she pushed him away, "Samuel, do you know why Harry offered me work at his company?" As a rule, a CEO like Harry had no business concerning which actresses worked at his company.

Looking away suspiciously, Samuel answered cunningly, "I guess because you are good at acting."

Only once in her lifetime had she heard Samuel spoken highly of her.

Was the sun in C Country today rising in the west?

Samuel never praised her, so she became delirious with joy and happy to be with Samuel.

Before going to sleep, Ella sensed something was wrong but she could not put her finger on it.

Ella's return to develop her career in C Country and becoming a member of Starry Company, made people think that she and Samuel may get together again. Starry Company was the enterprise below SL group division, where Harry had an interest in.

Ella had no official response about these rumours. She was sure that it was not a good idea to deny it. If she denied it, once she remarried Samuel, it was like lifting a rock only to drop it on her own foot.

Eden was busy choosing plays and commercials for Ella and had no time to pay attention to the media who wanted to get the juicy gossip about Ella's private life. The rumours continued floating around the internet, unverified.

Three days later.

The party organised by Lola was held at the Ditter Hotel. Almost all the famous female celebrities from upper class society were invited, including wives and daughters of famous men.

Everyone in C Country knew about Lola. She was Harry's wife and the richest women in the world. It would be an honor for those who were invited to come to the party.

Before 7 o'clock that night, the hotel hall was full of people.

Catherine and her mother, who lived in the suburb of C Country, had also been invited.

Catherine had no intention to go to the party. She was staying at her apartment, recovering from the bruises on her face. But her mother, Polly Qiu, forced her to accompany her.

There was a severe winter breeze and Polly chose to wear an expensive rose red fur coat. Rummaging through Catherine's wardrobe, she picked out a similar coat for her and forced her to put it on.

Polly was excited to go to the party. When they were about to leave, Catherine grabbed Polly's hand and asked impatiently, "Mum, do you see my face? How can I go out with my face looking like this?"

Polly's smile faltered slightly. She looked carefully at the bruises left by the cuts to Catherine's face.

Catherine noticed her mother's curious eyes. She hurriedly covered her face in embarrasment with her hands. 'Damn Ella!' Catherine cursed her in her heart.

"It is okay. I will help you cover the cuts with gauze and your bangs. After that, it will be hard to see them." They returned to Catherine's apartment. Polly started to look for the medical kit and babbled, "this party is for the famous women from the upper class society. How can you miss such a golden opportunity?"

When she was young, Catherine lived in wealth. But her father dissipated his money on gambling, drinking and a luxurious life, causing his company to almost become bankrupt.

Polly was the daughter of a county magistrate and she fancied Catherine's father for his money and married him at C Country.

Now Polly's husband had retired and her son had failed to become successful as a business man. The company was about to close down and she was divorcing Catherine's father.

Polly finally found the medical kit. She took the gauze out of the kit and taped it on Catherine's cuts.

"Mum. Do you know who made these cuts? It was Lola and her friends. It's not logical that Lola invited us to the tea party. The invitation seems a bit fishy." Catherine closed the kit and sat on the sofa, motionless.

She wasn't stupid and would not allow herself to fall into their obvious trap.

"I don't think so. You are thinking too much. I know what happened between you and Samuel. Emma and Elaine will be at the party as well. Emma had an affair with Samuel too. Perhaps they won't pay attention to you. Come on, let's go." Cupping her daughter's scarred face, Poly looked helplessly at her, trying to make the disappointment that she felt because of her.
