Trapped with a Lawyer novel Chapter 126

He was killed before Samuel could interrogate him.

Samuel was raging in the office, "I'll no longer require your services anymore. You have failed me."

He rubbed his pulsing temple after he hung up the phone. Then he started to contact other international mercenaries.

It had been a month and a half since Ella's incident. The only thing Samuel had as evidence were several pictures on his cellphone.

One of these was of a half-naked man on top of a woman, under dim lights.

The woman seemed to be unconscious. It was obvious that she was Ella since she was facing the camera.

Samuel did not know if it was because of the dim light or the man's deliberation that he couldn't identify the man in the picture.

When he tried to call the number that sent the pictures, it turned out to be an invalid number.

He requested for the last known location to be pinged, and it turned out that the last location was by the seaside. The SIM card might have already been thrown into the sea, he thought.

Furious, he smashed his phone on the wall. He didn't know why the person had sent this picture.

It's as if the person wanted to confirm to Samuel that Ella was violated.

Though he had guessed it, Samuel still felt the pain.

He could not wait to avenge for her.

After he bought a new cellphone, he immediately called Emma and told her to wait at the old place.

Emma had been calling him for a month, but Samuel never picked up. When she received this call, she had a bad feeling about it. But decided to meet Samuel anyway.

At the river bank.

It was a cold winter in December and the surface of the river was frozen.

It would be a New Year in a half month. Emma felt sentimental as she thought of Elaine who was in America.

Is it possible that I can spend the holiday by Samuel's side? She thought to herself.

While she was fantasising, a strong force lifted her up and pressed her against the railing with her head bent down.

"Ah!" Emma screamed because it was only three meters between the river and the bank. She would definitely be hurt if she fell.

Who might it be? Why would anyone do this to her? She thought, extremely puzzled. Fear was devouring her nerves, bit by bit.

"Emma, did you ask anyone to kidnap Ella a month and a half ago?" Scowling, Samuel showed no tenderness towards the pale-faced Emma. He felt the desire to kill Emma every time he thought that she might be the person who hurt Ella.

Emma nearly had a mental breakdown after she heard Samuel's voice. How could he do this to me? She barely could believe it. Especially since, she didn't even know what he was talking about.

"No, no. I did not." The moment she denied, Samuel pushed her forward. Two-thirds of her body was now beyond the railing. She was bound to fall into the river at any time.

"Samuel, I truly didn't do it! I don't know what you are talking about. Please... Samuel!" Emma was so frightened that she screeched loudly. She never knew that Samuel could be this horrible.

The woman who could drive him insane and make him want to kill turned out to be Ella. For a moment she felt disillusioned.

"Stubborn, huh? I'll give you one last chance. Otherwise I will throw you into the river." Samuel's voice was even colder than the air around them.

Emma's tears began to fall from her eyes and her lips started to quiver. She took a deep breath and said, "Samuel, I really didn't do anything to Ella." She spoke with such certainty, that

Samuel believed her. He knew she did not lie, so he pulled her back.

Samuel looked at the shivering Emma who had slumped on the ground. He spoke harshly, "Emma, if I find out that you had anything to do with this, I swear that you and your mother will burn in hell!"

"Samuel... I will let you go... And our love ends here!" Before she could restore her wits, Emma wanted to disassociate herself form Samuel.

She didn't want to love him anymore.

Since she didn't have to worry about money, she didn't mind leaving him. She didn't want to be with a devil!

"If I find out that you are behind of this, I will kill you myself." Samuel said it with hostility, then he left without looking back.

Samuel became more agitated after his attempts with Emma bore no fruit.

It seemed that Emma was not involved in this. Then who was it?

Catherine? Or Sum?

But Catherine was working with him the whole week. The meetings they had were all secured and Catherine had attended them. It was impossible that it was her.

As for Sum, he had been busy working to trying to manage the Moon Company, especially without his top management in place. He didn't have extra energy or time for anything else.

He hit the steering wheel really hard with his fist. "Who the hell did it?" Samuel searched his head for the answer.

When he returned home, Ella had made several home-made dishes for him, which soon swept away Samuel's gloom.

Thinking about the picture, Samuel fell asleep with his hands wrapped around Ella.

The next day, Samuel went to work as usual.

Ella immediately got up when he left, took a Pregnancy Test Kit out of the drawer and went to the bathroom.

Three minutes later.

"Ah!" Ella shouted with excitement after she saw the two bars on the kit.

"Yes, yes, yes!" She was in ecstasy!

Having freshened up, she drove to the nearest hospital to get the official test done. She had to confirm the pregnancy test results.

She didn't take a detour to Chuck Hospital because she wanted to know the result as soon as possible.

An hour and a half later.

Ella kissed the type-B ultrasonic result sheet again and again, joy warming her heart.

She was pregnant again! According to the doctor, it seemed that the baby was conceived the days after Samuel came back from South Korea.

She then got in the car and started it. She wanted to surprise Samuel. Little Jerry was going to have a sibling!

At Samuel's office.

Samuel was smoking in his office. He thought about how insulted Ella must feel every time he started and finished his work.

He recalled it again when he finished following-up on a case. Looking at the scenery outside the window, he seemed to be thoughtful.

He didn't even notice that the door of the office was opened quietly.

He turned around until his instinct alerted him.

His sudden movement startled Ella, who was trying to surprise him.

"Ella, why did you come here?" Looking at the startled girl, Samuel found it somehow funny. He guessed that Ella must have wanted to scare him, but instead, she got scared herself.

Ella was a little upset at first, but she soon grinned when she thought about what she was holding in her hand.

She held his hand and gestured for him to sit in front of his desk, "Samuel, sit down, I have a secret to tell."

Curious, Samuel did as she asked. "Now close your eyes!"

He glanced at her and closed his eyes. He wanted to know what she was up to.

Ella put the sheet in front of him in excitement "Now you can look."

How would he react to it? She wondered. She believed that he would be happier than her. She chuckled inwardly.

Looking at the sheet, Samuel didn't completely fathom what the picture was about but he know what it meant after reading the line below, "Singleton, 6 weeks old."

He was extremely delighted by it, but his smile gradually froze, and then faded, when he saw the date of conception.
