Triplets on Secret Mission novel Chapter 149

Chapter 149

Molly rarely talked about herself, so she just briefly answered Alice now that Alice had asked her.

“Just came back?’ Alice wondered.

Alice was immediately relieved. She knew what kind of person Sean was. So, she figured that there was nothing going on between them as they had just known each other for a short amount of time. Sean could sense his mother’s intention from her questions, so he frowned and reminded his mother coldly, “Mom, it’s about time. I’ll get the driver to send you there.” “It’s okay, the driver is waiting downstairs.” Alice waved. She obviously knew what her son was trying to say. Besides, the banquet was starting soon, so she did not want to be late. She looked at Molly again before she left.

“I’m putting my son in your hands now, Dr. May.” She then smiled politely at Molly and left, though she was feeling rather defeated. ‘Why does that rascal always chase me out in front of outsiders?’ When Alice left, Molly asked, “Did your mother misunderstand us or something…” She was not stupid. She instantly knew Alice’s motiye when she heard her questions, so she was worried that she might make Alice misunderstand them further.

But Sean did not want her to be involved in this as he did not want to drag Molly down. So, he said flatly, “Not at all. You don’t have to bother.”

Molly did not think further as she did not have time for a relationship anyway. She nodded and said, “Come on, let’s eat. I’ve prepared dinner already.”

Sean nodded.

After some time, Alice arrived at the hotel where Abigail was having a birthday banquet. The floor of the hall was covered in a red carpet, and the security was at the entrance, checking the guests orderly to stop any suspicious people and look out for any harmful items.

The hotel was extravagant and loud.

There was a fountain in the middle of the hall, and a carved goddess sculpture was sitting in the middle of the fountain. It was delicate and realistic. The water rushed up from below and poured out from her palms in an endless cycle.

Abigail and her parents were ushering the guests at the entrance. When they saw Ricky and Alice, Abigail’s eyes sparkled as she walked up to them with a smile.

Her makeup was soft and elegant, and she was wearing a plain white gown that brought out her enticing curves. The hem of her skirt would move as she walk, and she looked like a blooming flower on a lake with her graceful walk.

However, she only saw Ricky and Alice in her anticipation-filled gaze. She started to panic as she subconsciously held her mother’s hand tighter.

Her mother, Sarah, immediately understood her and squeezed her hand to console her. She then smiled and said, “It’s an honor for the both of you to grace us with your presence.” Sarah had a dignified manner, unlike Alice, who was gentle. “You’re flattering us,” Ricky and Alice responded with a smile. “Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson. I’m glad you can make it.” Abigail greeted them politely and gracefully. Alice smiled at her as she nodded. She automatically compared Abigail with Molly in her head. ‘If Dr. May dolled herself up, she’d be ten times better-looking than Abigail.’ Molly’s unique and sophisticated aura was hard to ignore. Then, the two families exchanged a few lines and Sarah found the right time to ask Alice,” Why didn’t Sean come with you?” Abigail immediately looked up with anticipation. Even her palms were covered in sweat as she looked at them. Alice’s expression remained the same, but she replied apologetically, “He is too busy with work. He puts his all into his work, so he couldn’t make time to come with us.”

Alice felt rather bad when Sean was mentioned.

A few days ago in the Anderson residence, she guaranteed Abigail affirmatively that she would bring Sean together with her.
