Uncontrollable Fondness novel Chapter 24

The only answer she got was the merciless and cold door slamming.

Lying on the ground, unrecovered, she gasped endlessly, even if it was a brief word, she would use a lot of physical energy to say it. Was she dying? Headache, sore throat, pain everywhere, her body felt like burning on a barbecue fire. But in the same time cold sweat was falling like water, and she seemed to feel how the life was leaving her…

Three days! William has already forgotten his anger of the destruction of Sophia’s photos, but the woman hasn’t issued a request to leave the dungeon and hasn’t even apologized. The only sentence she said was to terminate the contract!

Was he wrong about her?

Damn woman! Fingers grabbed the hair. He found that he had been immersed in the upset with this woman for most of the day, and the pile of documents in front of him hasn’t been managed.

He threw away his pen in frustration, put his hands in his pockets and paced the office, going circle after circle.

Jennifer Parker gently knocked on the half-open office door, and William raised his head and fixed the sharp eyes on him. His expression clearly indicated that if he had nothing important, William would kill him.

His body trembled slightly, Jennifer looked down and walked in, and said, “President, a group of reporters outside said they want to interview you.”

“Reporters?” William’s eyebrows twitched, and he stared at Jennifer again, “Are you useless at all? I have to teach how to deal with it?” He kept a low profile, avoiding reporters as much as possible. Anyone who wanted an interview was turned down by his staff.

Jennifer looked embarrassed, “This time they said they would like to interview you about your donation to the child with uremic syndrome… This matter has been reported to the mayor’s office. The mayor himself will vigorously promote entrepreneur charity model, especially, especially..." He was quiet for a long time before saying, “Especially an entrepreneur like you who has done good things without leaving a name...”

Ironic, really ironic!

William held the copy of the check in his hand, his face was dark. He was advertised as a good person suddenly, but he didn't know when he did such a good thing.

He has no habit of doing charity, so how can he donate? If he really wants to donate, with his financial resources, how can he only donate 500,000 dollars?

Jennifer stood outside the door for a while before knocking. After receiving William murderous look, he walked in, “President, I checked it out. On April 5th, only one check was issued on the president’s personal account. It's for...Miss Mia Charles.”

“Mia Charles?” Raising his eyebrows, William looked at Jennifer inconceivably.

Jennifer continued bravely, “We have also learned from the college students who collected donations at that time, that they only received this check, which was indeed donated by a girl, not far from Mia Charles’ house...”

“Open the door!” William hurried home, shouting at Rebecca Johnson angrily. Rebecca was anxious, and it took her a long time to unlock the dungeon door.

He rushed in and gasped at the sight of the woman inside the room. The woman was lying in front of him, almost not breathing. Her messy hair covered most of her face, and she was pale as death.

“Boss...” Rebecca couldn't see William’s expression, and she spoke in a whisper while wiping her sweat.

“Hurry up and call James Davies!” He roared out wildly, ran forward, pushing away two servants, and personally picked up Mia. Rebecca was embarrassed, “Boss, Dr. Davies has just accompanied Mrs. Brown to the United States.”

William gritted his teeth. It took a long time before he blew out a few words, “Don't you know how to call another doctor?”

Like a century in the desert, Mia finally felt cool. She hummed contentedly and a light smile appeared on her little face.

The nurse came out and bowed to William respectfully, “President, the patient's fever has gone. Do all the prescriptions and it will be ok,” William withdrew the hand that fell on Mia’s forehead, but was almost stunned by her weak smile. He saw the nurse looking at him and turned his face in embarrassment, and said without any emotions, “I see.”

The nurse left, leaving only the two of them in the room. William looked at Mia’s face, his thoughts fluttered, and he remembered the copy of the check with his name signed.

What kind of person is this woman?

Mia opened her heavy eyelids, and the eyes hit the bottom of her heart. Her heart trembled, and when she saw clearly who he is, her heart became cold.

Trying to raise her body, she found that the drip needle on the back of her hand was about to be pulled out.

Fortunately, William pressed her hand in time to stop from moving. “What do you want to do!” As soon as he opened his mouth, it was this annoyed question that made her that she tried to pull out her hand, which was under his palm, and coldly whispered, “I want to go back!”

“You don’t feel well!” he reminded truthfully, but Mia didn't seem to hear it and reached out to pull the needle again.

William was so angry that he pressed her hand again and shouted domineeringly, “If you try to pull out the needle again, don't even think about going back for the rest of your life!”

“You!” They stared at each other. Mia slowly retracted her gaze. She knew she wasn’t his opponent. She didn’t want to see this man, so she turned her head away, but her voice has softened, “Is it right that I can go home when I get better?”

“It depends on your behavior,” William was so domineering. Mia closed her eyes wearily. She didn't have the strength to walk, but she didn't want to face this man.
