Unrivaled Dragon Lord novel Chapter 76

“Did…Did you find out who is the one behind this? Who is messing up the stock market?” Greta took a deep breath, pretending to be composed while asking.

“I found it out. It’s done by HT Group. The company is targeting at our company crazily.” Melissa nodded and said.

“HT Group?” Greta furrowed her eyebrows and continued, “HT Group is much smaller than Sandoval Group. How does it have the strength to target at our company?”

HT Group was also a property developer in Ocean City but was much inferior to Sandoval Group.

When Greta woke up early in the morning, her phone was full with missed calls and messages.

When she hurried to the company, she was still in bewilderment and had no idea about what was going on.

Within the fifteen minutes after the stock market had opened, plenty of stocks of the Sandoval Group were sold off at a low price and financing media were eager to spread rumors about the bankruptcy of the Sandoval Group, which caused the stock price of the company to be plummeting.

Greta finally learned that it was HT Group that was targeting at her company. Nevertheless, the Sandoval Group had suffered great losses up to now.

Melissa’s estimation was accurate… If things kept going like this, the Sandoval Group would even come to its end within one day!

“How many capitals are needed to support HT Group’s action?” Greta regained her composure and lifted her head.

“At least fifty billion.” Mellissa blurted out, which caused the president’s office to be enveloped by silence.

It was so quiet that even the falling sound of a needle could be heard. The department managers all became wordless with astonishment written all over on their faces.

Fifty billion!

“This is impossible… According to the scale of HT Group, how could it raise fifty billion? The whole HT Group is worthy of ten or twenty billion at most.” Greta said bluntly.

“Ms. Greta, HT Group has spent fifteen billion…” Mellissa reported in a low voice and Greta’s delicate face turned pale when she heard the words.

“Impossible… How could HT Group have that much money? None of the companies in the Ocean City is able to raise that much money!” Feeling extremely shocked, Greta murmured. Fifty billion! This figure was really terrifying! This was a tremendous amount of money!

“Of course HT Group doesn’t have that much money.” Right at this moment, a sound rumbled from outside of the office. Then Harriet walked into the office and set eyes on Greta while saying, “Greta, this matter is not that simple.”

“You guys go out.” Greta glanced over those department managers.

After they left, Greta took a seat and laid eyes on Harriet while asking, “What the hell is going on?”

“Greta, I investigated HT Group just now and found out that it has been running under deficit recently. It was in short of money before and could by no means raise that much money to target at Sandoval Group.” Harriet continued, “So there must be someone behind HT Group who is manipulating all these.”

“Someone behind it?” Greta frowned.

Harriet nodded, “Without someone backing it up, TH Group would not have the guts to target at Sandoval Group.”

“Who do you think that could be the one behind this?” Greta asked.

Harriet shook her head after pondering for a while, “Many forces are eyeing covetously on Sandoval Group. I don’t know who the one behind this is. Maybe it’s the result of the joint efforts of those forces.”

“Then… What should we do?” Greta slowly heaved a long sigh, looking dejected, “There is little liquidity in the Sandoval Group at present.”

Harriet handed her a bank card, “There are nine billions in this card. It may barely help Sandoval Group to sustain for a longer while.”

“Thank you.” Greta didn’t decline her kindness as the Sandoval Group was now on the verge of bankruptcy and naturally she would not give up any glimmer of hope.

In a luxurious mansion, Andreas was sitting on the real-leather sofa and listening to his men’s reporting with a touch of smile gradually creeping on his face.

“Andreas, turns out you were raising money for this.” Charlie chortled with delight.

“The Sandoval Group has lost 1.5 billion within several hours. That bitch Greta must be crying.” Allison, who was sitting on the sofa, also giggled complacently.

“I really want to appreciate their expressions now. That bitch and that bastard. Their expressions must be more hideous than the one who has eaten a fly accidently.” Cecilia chimed in.

The living hall of the luxurious mansion was shrouded in a jubilant ambience as the Sandovals were discussing about his matter delightfully, as if the grievances and humiliations they had suffered last night had completely vanished.

“HT Group had been Sandoval Group’s rival yet its strength was inferior to Sandoval Groups’, which caused it to be the underdog in its every competition with Sandoval Group. And it had been seeking for an opportunity to defeat Sandoval Group. Comparing with other companies, it was relatively strong. Therefore, when I sought for cooperation with it, naturally it agreed without any hesitation. Even if Greta and Derrick doubts about this, they can’t find out any evidence.”

Charlie nodded, “It won’t take long for us to completely take control of the Sandoval Group.”

“Dad, shall we celebrate it?” Andreas smiled briefly and clasped his hands.

In next to no time, two of his men came over respectfully with a bottle of champagne on top of a plate. They opened the champagne and poured two glasses of transparent champagne with small bubbles in it.

Andreas picked up the wine glass and chinked his glass against Charlie’s. Smiles lit up their faces as they gulped down the champagne.

The Sandoval Group was in a chaos right at the moment. Rumors went virus outside of the company and the public were guessing how Greta and Derrick would solve this crisis, while the stock price of HT Group was ascending continuously.

Some experts even predicted that according to this trend, the market value of HT Group would surpass that of Sandoval Group soon.

When Greta walked into the basement parking lot after getting off work, she slightly narrowed her eyes when she saw the person who was leaning against the Maybach.

“How comes you are here again?” Greta furrowed her brows and looked around cautiously, only to walk over after making sure that there was no one in the surroundings.

Maxwell smiled, “Greta, I’m worry about you, so I come to pick you up.”

“Who needs you to pick up?” Greta rolled her eyes at Maxwell, pulled open the door and got on the car.

The Maybach was then driven out of the parking lot and steadily galloped at full speed on the road. Maxwell stole a glance at Greta through the rearview mirror and found that she was leaning against the backseat with her eyes closed tightly. Her breathing was steady and she actually had fallen asleep.

Greta was so tired that in order to cope with the crisis that the Sandoval Group was encountering, she hadn’t taken a rest the whole day and even had no time to have a meal. She even seldom went to the toilet today.

Greta was tired both physically and mentally. Therefore, when she got on the car and relaxed herself, she immediately fell into sleep. Maxwell’s eyes flashed a touch of distress towards Greta.

The Maybach stopped at the door of the luxurious mansion. Maxwell got off the car, gently carried up Greta in his arms and walked into the mansion.

With Greta in his arms, he crept up to the second floor without even making a sound. Harriet, who was having recuperation in the bedroom next to Greta’s, did not perceive it even after Maxwell had walked into Greta’s bedroom.

The whole process was done without a break. If Eijiro Chiba of Chiba Dojo was present and witnessed Maxwell’s ability to restrain his breathing and sounds, he would definitely be shocked as well.

When Maxwell went downstairs, Harriet closed the magazine and asked, “Is she asleep?”

Maxwell nodded, “She fell into sleep when she was in the car.”

“The crisis that Sandoval Group is facing now is quite intractable.” Harriet heaved a sigh with a rarely seen seriousness on her charming face.

“I’m afraid that HT Group is not the only party involved in this matter.” Maxwell spoke as lights flashing across his unfathomable eyes.

Harriet glanced at Maxwell surprisingly, “How do you know?”

“My intuition.” Maxwell curled his lips into a light smile and his gaze was meaningful.

Intuition… If it was not because Maxwell’s intuition was quite sensitive and if he was not vigilant enough, he would have died in the battles. He had taken part in the battles in many places in the world. With his intuition, he managed to escape death again and again under numerous life-and-death conditions.

“HT Group can be at most regarded as a puppet and the key to this matter is the party behind it…” Harriet spoke.

“The party behind it?” Maxwell murmured. He then suddenly gave a smile as if he had thought of something.
