Jewel POV

I just arrived in Baguio, even though my eyes were still swollen, I really tried to leave and get away from my husband's house. I don't know where I'm going as long as I can find something that can be rented here is fine with me.

I want to be able to think first because right now my mind is confused and I want peace of mind. As I was taking a walk I bumped into a woman with luggage. "I'm sorry, I didn't notice you." I apologize.

"It's okay dear, I didn't notice you either because I was not  looking either . Looks like you're looking for someone or something." She asked me.

I scratched my head. "Ah eh, there it is, I'm looking for a place to rent." I answered.

"Are you new to this place?"

"Yes." I answered

"You can come with me, there's still a vacant room in my house there but it's not big and if you want there's a hotel in the other barangay."

"Do you really have a vacancy? That's okay. I'm not looking for a big one, the important thing is I have a place to stay." I said.

"Then you can come with me, so that I can show you to decide if you will stay or find another,"

"Do you have a son or daughter?" I ask.

"She's not my real child, she had an accident before and my husband saw her so he helped her. And later we decided to just adopt her and treat her like a real child."

I nodded to the old woman and went with her because she was also going home. Not far from their house where we were, we just rode a tricycle to get home immediately.

"Come inside Jewel, don't be shy." She said, in fact their house is nice and clean. She is not as big as our house but it is enough for one family.

"Where is your husband, granny?" I asked because I remember she mentioned earlier that she had a husband,

She smiled at me. "He died a year ago so Marga and I are the only ones together now." I was momentarily stunned by the name she mentioned.

"Oh do you have a problem?" she asked me when she had noticed my reaction.

"Nothing, I just remembered the name you mentioned. I also have an acquaintance." I answered.

"Ah, is that so?  Where is she now?"

I suddenly felt sad. "She's dead, I was with her in an accident and I was the only one who survived." I said.

"That's why your face is so sad when I mention her name. Anyway, I just feel at home here. I'll just cook what we can eat and soon Marga will be here too, maybe she is just wandering around . "
