　　"Madame Sy invited me to a ball tomorrow evening", Lisa started.

　　Julie Tan on the other hand tried her best to suppress her sudden jolt of anger and slap the cousin in her face. She heard it clearly, Madame Sy! Vanessa Sy! Rawlf Sy's mother!! Her future mother in law! That's right! Her future mother in law invited her cousin Lisa to a ball tomorrow?!

　　But why? And how?! This cousin was newly hired so how come she got the aloof madame Sy's attention and even invited her to a ball.

　　Julie Tan maintained her kind face as she fished out for more information from Lisa.

　　"A ball tomorrow? You mean the fundraising event? I was invited too! Good thing that aunt Vanessa invited you", Julie smiled happily while shamelessly calling Vanessa Sy as her aunt when the madame had just only met her once from another fundraising event. There was an introduction between the madame and her as she was the current City I mayor's daughter. Although brief and the madame was aloof yet Julie was very ecstatic to be acquainted with her future husband's mother, her future mother in law!

　　"Yeah, but I don't know if I can make it as...I don't have anything to wear and I'm a bit

　　embarrassed as I'm not really used to attending those kinds of events. I mean events for the

　　elites of the high society", Lisa act shy and helpless so as not to show the slightest hint of desperation from her of really wanting to attend the event so as not to offend her cousin.

　　"Oh what stupid reason!" Julie acts gracious, "Don't worry, after this, we'll hunt down all the luxurious boutiques in the city so that we can find a good gown for you! It's my treat for you landing the job!"

　　"No no, cousin, you've done a lot of things for me If not even for your father and you, I don't

　　think Sy International could have accepted me", Lisa acts hesitant yet expectant deep inside. Another luxurious treat from her wealthy cousin! Who wouldn't want it?!

　　"Oh come on, you landed on the job because of your good qualifications! No more buts, we'll go after relaxing with our tea. So anyway, how come that aunt Vanessa invited you?"

　　Here goes the part of the deal. Lisa thought. Although she hates this now, seeing as she still needs her cousin's trust and support, Lisa could only do and fulfill her side of the bargain.

　　"Well, she came to the office earlier today. She looked angry when she arrived actually but when she came out, it's the contrary of her earlier mood. Even if she looked serious, I can still see the happiness in her eyes so I braved my way of assisting her to the President's private elevator."

　　Julie didn't cut off Lisa's and even listened intently, hating to miss any detail. Seeing the lack of response or further query from her cousin, Lisa continued.

　　The conversation only lasted for a few minutes because after all, the encounter was brief.

　　Julie on the other hand was thinking about the weirdness of the Sy madame. Why would she invite her cousin who was just a newbie to the company and not even knowing her background yet to a ball? If you have a personal assistant, it is still weird because Lisa was part of the company and it's not part of her job, professionalism wise.

　　She just couldn't understand the reason behind it all. And sensing as her cousin was telling the truth all the more made Julie curious.

　　If that's the case, then having Lisa attend the ball tomorrow evening would clear her confusion now. Her cousin is not yet a threat but Julie still made a mental note as she seemed to have established a connection with the Sy madam.

　　Veronica actually was already in her suite when Rawlf messaged her to be back early as he had something important to tell her. The word important actually made Veronica nervous and

　　scared.

　　Important? What does that mean?

　　Did he get tired of me now? Is he planning to tell me that our week's affair is over? And that he's breaking our ties off completely and properly??

　　But she hasn't noticed anything amiss from him. He was still warm and affectionate earlier this morning?

　　Veronica can't help but overthink and seeing as it will take Rawlf an hour before arriving, Veronica decided to call and check on her twins to relieve herself from overthinking. And maybe, prepare herself for the worst outcome of Rawlf's 'important talk'.

　　Veronica's video call was answered right at the first call tone. She smiled at the thought of her twins waiting and excited for her call and then, felt guilty as it seemed that she was being neglectful of them. Seeing both her twins' fluffy faces, Veronica had the urge to fly her way back to Country R just so she could kiss and hug both of them!

　　Oh how much she had missed her children! Maybe it's a good thing if Rawlf would finally call it quits between them as she would have no reason to stay in for a longer period in Country P.

　　Her revenge plot would come easy as long as her Bael Force would be able root itself in the country.

　　The establishment was no longer in question only that to root itself so it will be easier for her to gain connection and of course, collect information. No information will remain a secret once Bael Force is deeply rooted in the underground arena of Country P.

　　She only needs to slow down the process to secure her hold.

　　"Hello babies!", Veronica beat them into greeting her first. She giggled after seeing Baelfair pouting while Baelfire furrowed his brows.

　　It has become a silent competition between the mother and twins as to who will manage to greet first.

　　This time, Veronica manipulated the computer so as to look blurry so that her twins would wait for her image in the video to clear out thinking it was because of the signal and the instant she clicked a button where her image would appear clear, she greeted them right away.

　　"Mother. You did something." Fire reprimanded their mother in a serious tone.

　　Veronica was surprised to hear her three year old son discovering her little scheme. Veronica also pouted the same way Fair did and acted spoiled to her mature like four years old son. "Mother is sorry Fire. You'll forgive me right?? Right?"

　　Seeing her mother like that, Fire couldn't help but to be forgiving of her scheming mother. Fire could only sigh while Fair was giggling seeing their beautiful mother's pouting face.

　　For the record, it was only Fire who was engaged by this 'who will greet first' competition with their mother.

　　Why compete when you can also act spoiled and curry your beautiful and divine mother's trust right?!

　　Fair cutely shakes her head as if helpless to her twin's stupidity. 'Mothah (mother) ish kyut even pawwwting (pouting)!"Fair said in her usual cute childlike tone.

　　"Ohhhh, my lovely Fair made this mother so happy!"

　　"Bekosh (because" Fey (Fair) laf (love) mothahha (mother) mawssh (most)!" Fair continued with her currying favour scheme while Fire's mouth twitched seeing his scheming twin sister acting childlike and talking childlike in front of their mother.

　　Honestly, no matter what, he is still not used to this. Good thing that he managed to discover this scheming and pretentious side of Fair almost a year ago because if not, surely, he would also be one of her victims.

　　Fire just listened to Fair and their mother's conversation and somehow was enjoying in the process.

　　To hear their mother's giggles and chuckles while cooing both of them made him already content in the sidelines while his chatty twin cheerfully told their mother about their day.

　　Veronica would from time to time check on him and ask him to have him join the conversation. Although already used to Fire's small talk in monotone, Veronica would still want to hear her son's side of the story.

　　"Mother misses you a ton babies! Fair, be nice, always okay? And don't disobey your gramma Cel. Understand sweetheart?"

　　"Fey (Fair) ish vewy vewy obeydient (obedient) Mommy!' Fair said in conviction while bobbing her head up and down.

　　"Fire, don't forget to look after your younger sister. Mommy will be back soon, okay sweetheart?"

　　"Yes mother. Fire will do as you say," Fire replied solemnly but with a hint of sadness because it's a signal that their mom is to bid goodbye.

　　"Good boy!" Veronica's tone is affectionate.

　　'We miss (mish) you mommy! We love (wav) you!' The twins said in unison. "Ohh, I love you-"

　　"Who are you calling sweetheart, good boy and even saying I love you, so affectionately Veronica?"

　　Veronica pauses. 'Rawlf!'
