“Who was the person that poisoned you?”

Claudia was astonished by his question.

She felt like all of her blood was clotting and all the muscle in her body was rigid. She felt like her brain was like a broken TV.

“Tell me! I need to know the truth!” he said genuinely and firmly.

“Don’t you believe me? I won’t hurt you, Claudia! You need to tell me the truth so that I can help you!”

Claudia closed her eyes painfully, and her hands were loosened powerlessly.

She trusted Marshall, that was for sure.

She didn’t know whether it was about affection or love, but the relationship between them, which was founded and forged by the experience of growing up with each other, could support her trust in him alone.

But sometimes, when you trusted more about a person, you wanted to protect him more.

Then, she opened her eyes, which were clear and determined, and smiled slightly like nothing happened.

Claudia said in sign language, “Don’t ask questions again, Marshall. It’s all over. I’m fine, really.”

Marshall paused and stared at her eyes. He felt the sense of bitterness was getting stronger in his mind.

“Who are you trying to cover for? Amber?” Marshall guessed.

She shook her head, “Though she is capricious and arrogant, and doesn’t get along well with me, she is not a bad guy. Don’t suspect her like this.”

After all, Amber was her sister with the same father. Even though Amber was hostile to her all along and ensnared her, she still rendered good for evil and tried to resolve the conflict.

His strength and aggressiveness were hidden, but not disappeared. Claudia could still feel he was a dangerous man.

He served a cup of coffee for her when she sat down. That was a cup of expresso with milk and sugar.

Scott looked at her intimately and said in a frivolous tone.

“I haven’t seen you for a long time, Claudia! Do you miss me?”

Claudia looked at him indifferently and said in sign language, “Cut the crap. What’s the deal?”

“So, what’s your identity when you are saying this? Claudia? Or Miss S?”

Claudia closed her eyes helplessly. She still didn’t understand how he would know she was S.

Staring at her, Scott smiled slightly, “Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone about this. In fact, I will keep the secret for you until you want to unveil it.”
