You Are My Mr Wright novel Chapter 70

"It's okay. I can take a car there."

"I live in a neighborhood nearby. Anyway, it's on the way. That's it. I'll pick you up the night after tomorrow, and then we'll go there together. But what's your phone number?"

Harriet Smith took out her mobile phone and exchanged phone numbers with Peter Johns. After chatting for a while, they parted.

Vera Brion had been watching them from the side. As soon as Peter Johns left, she grabbed Harriet Smith's arm and asked, "Harriet, does he like you?"

Hearing that, Harriet Smith glanced at her grumpily. "We're old classmates. We haven't seen each other for so many years. It's inevitable for him to be excited. You think too much."

"Really?" Vera Brion shrugged her shoulders. "I don't think he is simple-minded."

Harriet Smith ignored her and continued walking forward. "Aren't you going for a walk? Hurry up, the sun will come out soon."

Sophia Scott was afraid of gossip, so she only let Harriet Smith stay at home for one night. The next day, she drove her to Wright’s house.

Harriet Smith refused to leave. "Mom, my old classmate lives here. We made an appointment to go to the gathering the day after tomorrow. You can't drive me away now."

Sophia Scott had no choice but to let her leave. After all, she was her daughter. What else could she do?

Therefore, she stayed at home. Including the day she left, she had not returned to the House of Wright for three days.

In the House of Wright.

Beau Wright's eyes swept across the living room. The only person sitting on the sofa watching TV was Sykes Wright.

First, he glanced upstairs. Then, he turned to look at Sykes Wright and said, "Has Harriet come back yet?"

"No..." Sykes Wright raised his head.

Beau Wright frowned. He didn't say anything and went upstairs. His eyes were dimmed and he felt the room was much colder than before.

He sank into the sofa. He pulled the tie with his big hand a little irritably, took out his mobile phone, rubbed his phone number with his fingers, and called her.

The phone rang for a moment, and then a sweet female voice came. "Sorry, the number you dialed is on the phone. Please call me later..."

He frowned. His handsome face was as dark as a bottomless whirlpool. His knuckles moved slightly and he dialed the phone again.

Harriet Smith had just walked out of the bathroom when her phone rang. She looked down and saw that it was Beau Wright.

Her fingertips trembled slightly. She lowered her gaze, hesitated for a moment, and then hung up the phone.

But a few seconds later, the screen of her mobile phone lit up again. This time, she directly turned off the phone.

Firstly, she was a woman. Secondly, she was not a generous woman.

Therefore, there was hatred, bitterness, and pain in her heart.

Throwing the phone aside, she simply went to bed without seeing anything. She took the "Red and Black" from the bedside.

She had read almost half of a thick book, and still had a small part left.

But at this moment, her attention was still not on the book, and even she did not know what she was thinking.

She was so upset that she couldn't calm down. She leaned against the bed and took a deep breath to relax herself. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Hearing the mechanical and cold female voice from the phone, Beau Wright couldn't help but feel more annoyed.

He pulled off his tie and threw it casually on the sofa. Leaning back on the back of the sofa, he crossed his legs and put it on the edge of the tea table with a sneer.

Mrs. Wright was really brave. Not only did she learn not to go home at night, but she also learned to hang up the phone. She was really so arrogant...

In the morning, Harriet Smith accompanied Vera Brion to a big shopping mall. It was almost the New Year, and Vera Brion was going to buy new clothes.

In the end, Vera Brion picked a red fur coat, which was of spring style. It looked thin but loose. She said that she could still wear it when the child was four or five months old.

Harriet Smith, on the other hand, was just watching idly. It didn't matter to her whether she would buy clothes during the Spring Festival or not.

Hearing this, Vera Brion snorted and argued with Harriet Smith disapprovingly.

"Your idea is completely wrong. It's because of your marriage that you need to buy a good dress. According to your mother-in-law's temper, if you buy one casually, she will definitely feel ashamed. After all, the Wrights is a well-known family in Tranton. Besides, you can't let her look down on you!"

Harriet Smith knew that what she had said was reasonable, and it was all the truth. But why did she have to do that?

Lainey Brown couldn't stand her. It was an unchangeable fact that Lainey Brown didn't like her. Why should she cater to her and please her?

Besides, she felt that Lainey Brown was so arrogant. How many people could she look up to?

Besides, Harriet Smith was not that kind of person, so she could do whatever she wanted.

The only relief she felt was that Vera Brion had finally become normal. She didn't have to worry about it anymore, and her parents could lead a peaceful life in their old years.

After shopping for a whole day, Harriet Smith finally bought a big red cloak, loose and fashionable. It was really good.

It was already six o'clock when Harriet Smith got home. She hurriedly packed up and picked up her bag to go downstairs.

A black modern Honda was parked downstairs. Seeing her coming down, the car window rolled down and the Peter Johns greeted Harriet Smith. "Harriet, this way."

After getting in the car, Harriet Smith fastened her seat belt. Only then did Peter Johns start the car and leave.

"You've been living quite well these years." Harriet Smith said with a smile.

"Just so-so. I have a house and a car, but I still need a wife." The Peter Johns also smiled.

Hearing this, she couldn't help laughing even harder. "Then try your best. You have such good conditions, a house, a car, and a career. What a high-quality young man! You don't have to worry about getting married."

With a smile, Peter Johns deliberately glanced at her a few times, and then his resolute face turned slightly red, but it was not very obvious in the night.

The two chatted all the way, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. In the blink of an eye, they saw the entrance of the Charmed Bar. They parked the car and walked in together.

The main purpose of the gathering was to have fun, so the students' gathering didn't take place in a private room. They were at the edge of the dance floor. There were more than 30 people in a row, which was very spectacular.

Although they hadn't contacted each other for such a long time, their appearances hadn't changed much. At first glance, they could still call each other by their names.

The friendship in high school was the purest. They were young and lively, and the time was just right.

At this moment, they were sitting together and chatting happily. There was no separation or strangeness between them.

Meanwhile, everyone's gaze was focused on Harriet Smith and Peter Johns. When the two of them entered together, everyone thought that they were married.

"There are so many high school classmates, but no one expected you two to walk together!" Camilla Kents looked at them in disbelief.

Harriet Smith knew that everyone must have misunderstood, so she quickly explained, "We're not married. You've misunderstood. I'm already..."
