You're The Best Medicine For Me novel Chapter 100

More than a dozen patients were waiting outside the surgical room.

Shirley and Mildred sat in the last row.

Mildred noticed that Shirley had not spoken since they sat down, she didn't show any emotion but felt like her heart was heavy.

She called worriedly. "Paisley."

Shirley raised her head and gave her an 'I'm fine' smile and nodded.

Mildred felt even worrier, "Are you in pain?"

It pained her heart seeing her injured hand. "That old man was blind, walking recklessly despite knowing this is a hospital area."

Shirley remained silent.

Mildred continued, "Let’s go to the emergency section and let the doctor treats you first."

Shirley grabbed her arm when she was about to stand up. "He was my father."

Mildred's body stiffened, she was shocked and stared at her in disbelieve.

She then sat back down on the chair but still looked at Shirley shockingly. "What… What did you say?"

Shirley blinked and nodded in silence.

She was telling Mildred with her look that the man just now was her father.

Her birth father that had never raised her.

That never concerned about her when she was sick.

That pushed her down the dead-end when she needed help.

Mildred hugged Shirley. "Cry out loud if you want to."

Shirley sighed softly, her eyes were reddened but she looked cold. "No, Shirley Thomas is dead, Paisley Thomas will never cry."

"Yes, Shirley’s tears dried up in that sea, you are my Paisley." Mildred patted her gently like how a mother patted her child.

Shirley leaned onto her shoulder with tears gushed down her cheeks.

She thought she would confront George Thomas when she met him again, asking him why gave birth to her and let her suffer, why didn't he choked her to death.

But she didn't.

When he stood in front of her, she felt like all her energies were sucked out by an unknown force.

A figure appeared in front of her while she was thinking.

Shirley looked up and met Bryan's eyes, there was an unfamiliar look in his eyes.

It looked like gentleness and love!

He asked, "Why are you sitting out here!"

Mildred raised her number and said, "There was eleven patient in front of us, Paisley didn't want to go to the emergency room."

Bryan grabbed her arms and pulled her up.

Shirley stunned, she fell into his arms when he pulled her up.

He supported the back of her head with one hand. "Why wait? You are severely injured, so think about yourself first, let’s go."

"Bryan Moore, this is not your hospital, my injuries are not severe, it's just broken blisters." Shirley was annoyed and tried pushing him away.

He was the last person she wanted to see now. All she wanted was to sit quietly and daze out with Mildred.

But she failed to push him away.

Instead, he bent over and carried her in his arms while she was struggling.

Shirley felt dizzy and when she got better, Bryan already walked to the elevator with her in his arms.

She yelled out shockingly, "Bryan Moore, put me down.”

"Paisley, listen to Mr Moore, you can't delay treatment to your hand injuries any longer. The auction will be held in fifteen days, you won't be able to make perfume with a hand like this." When Bryan carried Shirley up and walked into the elevator, Mildred quickly took Shirley’s purse and followed them. She then advised her.

She understood how important perfume making is to her.

Shirley stopped struggling after hearing Mildred's words.

Bryan looked at her, "Don't disappoint those who concern about you, you might be injured, but me, the children, Ms Walker and grandma feel the pain in heart. You must take care of yourself even for others."

Shirley blushed with their words.

She was already depressed seeing George at the hospital, and Bryan's words made it even worse, she couldn't help and burst into tears.

The sadness came from deep within her heart.

Mildred got nervous, she took out some tissues from the purse and cried. "Paisley."

She handed over the tissues with her trembling hands.

She understood her pain, she received lots of love but none of it was what she truly longed for…

Bryan frowned and stared at the woman in his arms.

Even when crying, there was no emotion on her face, only tears gushing down like opened faucet.

Shirley jumped down from his arms and rushed out the moment the elevator's door opened.

"Paisley." Bryan shouted and followed her footsteps.

But Mildred grabbed his arm when he was about to step out. "Mr Moore, please leave her alone and give her some space."

Bryan's sights fell on her back that was leaving and disappeared into the stairs at the corner.

He clenched his fists, he was worried and sad.

He suddenly recalled Jordan told him that it was Mildred that saved Shirley from the sea.

So Mildred knew what happened during the years.

He wanted to know what happened to Shirley for the past six years, so he turned and asked eagerly, "Ms Walker, where did you save Shirley Thomas?"

Mildred skipped several heartbeats when she heard "Shirley Thomas", and looked at the man before her in astonishment.

"I know who she is and I'm the father of her children."

His direct conversational style shocked Mildred to the core, it took her quite some times to calm down.

Her shocking face turned into coldness.

The same coldness that could be seen on Shirley, Bryan was familiar with it.

Mildred turned her body and recalled Bryan's eagerness to make Shirley and the kids move into the Moore's Manor. A sudden fear took over. "So you tried your best to persuade her and the children to move into the Moore's Manor after knowing you are the father? What do you plan to do next? Snatching the children away from her and kick her out of the manor?"
