A Relentless Pursuit for Love novel Chapter 131

Chapter 131

Zamora fed Sage and Kane some aspirin before they were asleep. This morning they both felt good without any headaches despite all the alcohol they drank last night. Sage was so grateful that she hugged her and kissed her on the cheeks.

Kane wanted to kiss her too, but Sage pushed him away, “Behave yourself! Why are you taking advantage of Madam Zamora?”

“I only take advantage of pretty girls,” Kane said righteously, “Are you saying Madam Zamora isn’t one?”

Sage squinted her eyes at Kane.

Zamora looked at both of them lovingly. It has been a while since she’d seen both of them bickering like old times. This house used to feel like home.

But now

Zamora swallowed her sighs and hurried them to have their breakfast.

Leah came down the stairs and greeted everyone. She took the seat next to Sage. Sage placed a bowl of congee in front of Leah, and asked, “Have you seen Yeva?”

“I knocked on her door but there was no answer. I thought she came down,” answered Leah, and she added, “I’ll go get her now…”

“You sit,” Sage pressed on Leah’s shoulders, tumed to the helper, and instructed, “Tell Yeva she can choose to stay in her room, but food won’t be served to her.”

The helper went up to get Yeva but retumed without her. “Miss Sage, Miss Yeva isn’t in her room,” the helper explained.

Where would Yeva be this early in the morning?

Sage checked the surveillance cameras and saw Yeva escaping from her bedroom window. “Huh, how very clever of her.” Kane watched as Yeva ran towards the doggy hole and crawled through it. She then vanished from the surveillance video. Kane shook his head. “Pitiful. Look what you’ve done to her,” Kane turned to Sage and said.

“It’s all her own doing. What am I supposed to do?”

Sage felt helpless. The doggy hole Yeva escaped from was from her childhood. Her father closed it up upon discovering the hole, and now the hole was once opened up again.

Zamora asked if they needed to cover the hole up, and Sage waved her hands, “No need. She can be a dog if she wants to. She can’t lose her only privilege as a dog now. She’ll be more pitiful if we close it up.”

Kane brought it up casually while having bread in his mouth and said,” Your security system is a joke. What’s the use of your guards if she’s able to escape just like that?”

Mr. K walked over as Kane complained and explained that they were watching Yeva as she escaped, but didn’t bother too much. They had thought of waking Sage up when they saw Yeva escaping through the doggy hole, but decided to wait till Sage was awake as they did not want to disturb her sleep.

Sage gave Kane a side-eye, indicating that he was wrong about the guards. Kane kept his head down and continued eating.

Sage looked at Mr. K, and asked, “Is Yeva headed to Julian’s place?”

Mr. K nodded.

Kane looked at Sage in disbelief, “How did you even know about this?” “Just eat your bread.” Sage gave Kane another side-eye glance.
