When Jessica woke up the next day, she felt much better. Although there was still mild pain, it was endurable.
Jessica had a meeting early in the morning, so she woke up a little earlier than usual. She thus arrived at the company early
Wendy came in as soon as Jessica sat in her chair. “Good morning, Miss Hall.”
“Good morning, Wendy.”
“Miss Hall, do you want to suppress the gossip online?”
Although Jessica didn’t do or say anything, as the “female lead”, she naturally drew a lot of attention. People commented on her.
In fact, most of the people were not judging. They were just discussing which guy Jessica should choose.
Some buzzkills did mention Jessica’s three-year marriage with Lucas, though.
But most of them were just idle beholders looking for juicy gossip.
Jessica wasn’t bothered. “Leave it be.”
Wendy nodded. “I see, Miss Hall.”
It didn’t mean that Wendy thought Terry was trustworthy as Jessica’s husband.
Jessica wasn’t bothered, someone in the Thomas family was.
In the statement Terry posted yesterday afternoon, he not only belittled the Thomas family but also suggested that Justin and Olivia had ill intentions against Jessica.
Justin was so angry that he didn’t sleep well last night. The news should have been suppressed, yet some progress in the whole thing was exposed and drew more attention.
Olivia knew about the progress. When they were having breakfast, she could not help but say, “Grandpa, I think Jessica does not want to get back together with Lucas at all. She is already with Terry!”
“Nonsense, how come? Didn’t he just have a rumored girlfriend?’
Olivia pouted and said, “Who knows?”
Justin thought that Olivia was spouting nonsense again, so his face darkened. “Mind your tongue!”
“I’m telling the truth! If you don’t believe me, look at these photos, grandpa. My friend sent them to me!”
Justin took Olivia’s phone and saw photos of Terry walking out of Jessica’s apartment.
Justin’s face turned grim at once. He could no longer have the oatmeal. He got up and went straight back to his study.
Justin returned to the study and called Lucas. “Didn’t you go to find Jessica last night? Why was Terry there as well?”
“Grandpa, Jessica won’t marry me again.” Lucas hung up the phone.
Lucas had also seen those photos. Hari sent them to him.
Lucas knew it must have been Terry who posted those photos shamelessly. But what Jessica was like last night made Lucas realize that Jessica was indeed no longer in love with him.
In that case, Lucas didn’t think it was wise to ask Jessica to get back with him anymore.
When Justin heard what Lucas said, he was so angry that he smashed his phone.
However, even though Justin was angry, he knew that Lucas must have felt frustrated to have said that.
Justin decided that he had to do something to stop Jessica from marrying Terry Davison.
Justin then suddenly thought of something and said, “Dwayne, ask Rebecca to come over.”
