Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties novel Chapter 89

"How are we supposed to stop one of them?"

"That's a good question. How do we get one of them to talk?"

For the first time in a long while, Laurette agreed with Claire. The girls knew that they couldn't stop for a moment else they would lose the Cannibals.

"Let's get to them first before getting worried. When we get to that bridge we would find a way to cross it. Isn't that a popular maxim?"

Ayisha didn't for once look at the rest of the girls. She kept on hurrying up the path. Her soles were the lightest. The rest had trouble catching up with her.

"We are gradually approaching their village. Would we keep running behind them or call at one of them or something..."

Claire was as impatient as ever.

"Of course we would keep following them."

"And why should we do that?"

Claire halted suddenly. Laurette did too. Ayisha had no choice but to respect their stances.

"Do you have a better idea?"

Ayisha walked back to Claire, halting before her. Claire couldn't even shake her head in defense.

"How about you?"

She looked from Claire to Laurette. Laurette was able to shake hers slowly.

"Then we do it my way."

She turned away from them to walk away, but then hesitated. She turned back to them,

"See, I'm not trying to boss you around. We all have equal rights here, okay? The fact is just that we can't even speak their language. We have to think of a foolproof plan to be able to get the attention of one of them. Stopping all of them would only harm our plan."

"You can't be so sure of that!"

Claire was looking for a way to beat her to it.

"We don't have time for our differences. Let's do it her way for a while, if it doesn't work out, we'll think of another way!"

Laurette decided to draw a closure.

"Follow me then."

Ayisha turned away again. Laurette followed. Claire stood their watching them go,

"She doesn't boss around....isn't that what she said?"

She sneered,

"That wench!"

She followed them. The three arrived at the fence of the Cannibal's village. They were a mile away, hiding behind a big tree.

"What if we take the other route. We could find a stray Cannibal."

Laurette suggested.

"Why should that matter? We are looking for one not trying to steal one! We can work from anywhere, as far as our goal is well pronounced."

Claire was always ready to counter. The both girls glanced at her for a while then looked away.

"Don't you find it weird... I mean, didn't you?"

Ayisha came on again.

"What?"

The both girls chorused.

"From earlier. At first, the Cannibals stopped bathing abruptly, then walked briskly to the foot of the big tree, they bowed and stood several times, then put one clothes."

"So what? What about that?"

Claire didn't take her time to think it through before bouncing the idea off.

"What's your IQ? Are you really dumb or being a prick!!!"

Laurette decided not keep her cool anymore.

"Laurette."

Ayisha called to make her realize the weight of her words.

"No I mean, can't she see beyond her hate? There are somethings that don't matter at some point in time. Even a hopeless urchin knows better."

It was strange that Claire wasn't taking it to heart. That was enough to pick the interest of Ayisha who couldn't take her eyes off Claire.

"I feel like they are taking orders from someone. I'm not sure. Imagine one of the Cannibals bringing out one of the clothes and spreading it like he was taking ---"

Laurette paused for a moment. It seemed as though she was trying to sort her thoughts.

"And to think of it. Could the Cannibals really make clothes? If they could, why didn't they make one all their lives?! Why now!!! There's something not right. Claire was right, Damien might be somewhere out there..."

Claire's eyebrows raised when Laurette complimented her. It seemed as though her ears had just played tricks on her.

"Let's get one of the Cannibals first, then we can continue with the plan..."

Ayisha didn't for once waver on what her mind had been set on. Yes, that was the kind of girl she was.

"You mean, the climbing of tree plan?"

Claire wanted to be sure. Ayisha nodded.

"Now."

Ayisha walked out of the hide.

"Follow me."

She added and walked towards the fence of the village.

"Where are you going?"

Claire called, trying to be audible but not loud. Ayisha didn't respond, let alone turn. She kept on walking, through the fence then into the village.

"That crazy bitch!!! What does she think she's doing?"

"You can go after her all you want. I'm not risking my life, even though I have something for Damien."

Claire glared at Laurette who had just finished talking. It was obvious why she did that.

"So we are going to stay here?"

Claire asked the clear question.

"No, we are going to crawl on our heads to meet her."

Laurette trolled.

"You crazy wench, you really think you can beat me if we go fists to fists?"
