Crash-landed On An Island With Nine Beauties novel Chapter 77

The Cannibal who had pointed at and called him, jumped on his feet and hurried in his direction. The rest knelt with him jumped up too.

"No way he can see me."

Damien's heart thumped violently in his chest, his eyes doing quirky movements in his sockets. He felt really jumpy and excited at the same time.

"Can you see me?"

He asked the same Cannibal who had just got to him. But the countenance of the Cannibal fell suddenly.

The rest got to him and muttered amongst themselves, asking the Cannibal what the matter was.

"I saw him just now. Where did he go? I saw Lugal. I saw him!!!"

The Cannibal kept saying, trying to convince the rest who obviously weren't taking him seriously.

"I'm still here. Look at me."

Damien walked to stand at the front of that Cannibal who kept turning around. He hadn't felt that desperate in a long time.

"Look at me..."

He kept trying to urge the Cannibal.

"I'm here."

"I saw him..."

The Cannibal repeated again. Then walked towards them, the head of the Cannibals.

"We are all attached to the Lugal. But seeing him elsewhere when his body is lying there means one thing."

As soon as the head stopped talking, the eyes of the rest of the Cannibals widened. It was as though they had just heard a shocking news.

Soon enough, they started running away from the Cannibal who had claimed to see Damien for a few seconds.

"What's the matter? What happened to him?"

Damien asked no one in precise. The head of the Cannibals signalled and two of the Cannibals approached the one considered to be odd.

Without any struggle, the odd Cannibal started to lead the way.

"Where are you taking him to? What happened to him?"

Damien tried to stop them, but how could he? Suddenly, one of the Cannibals, the one through whom Damien walked through into the hut called,

"I can hear Lugal. It's been three times now. I can hear his voice around me but I can't see him."

WHAT THE FUCK HAS GOTTEN INTO THESE BUNCH OF WEIRDOS?

Damien didn't know what to believe anymore. The Cannibals changed their interest from the odd one to the new one.

"What did he say right now?"

One of the Cannibals tried to make a meaning of the present situation. But if it were a human, you'd think that he was looking for a way to prove the other person wrong.

"I can't hear his voice now. But I heard it earlier"

"What were the things he said earlier. Could you recall them?"

The new Cannibal shook his head. He didn't quite recall what he heard.

"Throw him out into the jungle until he finds his inner CHI."

The head blurted and two men bundled the new one up, carrying him away.

"Hey, stop! Stop!!!"

Damien called. He couldn't quite place what was happening amongst the Cannibals. If he were told that they were so complicated, he would had made a fight for it, to prove the person wrong.

"I hear him now. He said to stop. He said to stop... 'Hey, stop! Stop!!!' I heard him say that."

The cannibal shouted on top of his voice, but the head of the Cannibals countered,

"You can do better."

While he was carried away, the other Cannibal who claimed to had seen him was led away. Damien made to follow them, to see what they would do to him.

Suddenly, he remembered that he came here because of a mission.

OH CRAP! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO. I HAVE ONLY ONE DAY LEFT AFTER TODAY. THREE MISSIONS TO GO. COULD ANYONE OR ANYTHING BE CRUELER THAN THIS SYSTEM?

He groaned and turned away from the ruckus. On a bright side, the sudden racket and confusion amongst the Cannibals had reduced the numbers of Cannibals stationed to watch over his body.

There were only two Cannibals at the door. There was none kneeling around his body anymore.

THIS SHOULD BE MORE THAN EASY. BUT I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL.

He walked slowly to his body. He was leaning towards it when he recalled that he couldn't be seen.

WHY AM I SO CAREFUL OUT OF THE BLUE? THEY CAN'T POSSIBLY SEE. THOUGH ONE OF THEM CLAIMED TO.

He wasn't ready for that new thought yet. He couldn't afford being penalized or punished for bunking a task at such a period... trial mode.

I HOPE THESE DUMB BASTARDS DON'T TURN YET.

He lifted his body and put it on his left shoulder. He made sure to do it slowly and carefully. He had gained his balance when he realized a concern which he didn't consider earlier.

"How am I supposed to pass through those two with someone on my shoulder?"

He sighed.

"How I wish there is another door apart from this front door."

[Ping! Jungle Wits: Behind the duplicate host is an open room which leads to a door which opens to the back of the hut, a path by the left which leads out of the subjects' territory and into the woods.]

"Oh great. That's exactly what I needed."

With his body on his shoulder, reaching to his shoulder blade, he slowly walked in the direction the jungle wits had given him.

WHY DIDN'T I KNOW THAT THERE WAS A DOOR HERE?

He talked as though he was brought there in his right mind. He made it successfully out of the hut through the back door.

He bursted out into a lone path between rows of huts.

"Wait... what did the wit say? Left or right?"

He thought for a while. He knew he couldn't put the body down to flip out the system window.

"Fuck this. Let's take right."

He started walking in the right direction. He stopped.

"What if it's left?"

He decided to turn. He took the left direction. Who could believe that he could play games of guesses at such period. Yes, our MC is quite impossible.

Fortunately, he got to the exit of the village and led himself through the dense shrubs.

"Who could had imagined that these Cannibals are quite wise to make such a development?"

He smirked.

"See me talking about them as though they are some wild animals. After all they are humanoids. They should have at least an iota of instinct and IQ which are found in normal human."

"It's about time I started seeing these folks as human. That would save me a lot of stress."

"But then again, seeing them as a total human would only complicate things. So I have to be --"

"Screw it... This is not the time for this."

He walked out of the shrubs. He observed the woods.

"This must be the way."

He didn't have to take guesses at this point. In just a month, he was already accustomed to and acquainted with almost every nooks and crannies of the wood. Except the new one he discovered recently.

"Oh God, this is so heavy."

He was tempted to hurl the body away. But when he remembered whose body it was and why he was doing this, he had no choice.

"I must admit. I was naturally weak. I should work more on my physical strength. I have to engage myself in strenuous and suicidal tasks... Self tasks. But well, that would be after this trial mode."

"Who gave me a death wish?"

He clicked his tongue and increased his pace. Self-determination couldn't let him feel the pain or weight on his shoulders anymore.

To think of it, it could be called a sheer luck, the fact that none of the Cannibals saw him up to this point.

"Lugal! Lugal!!"

Oops! Remind me, what was I saying?!

Damien spun around before he could think.

"You?"

It was the Cannibal who had claimed to hear his voice. Oh, he recalled that the Cannibal was thrown out of the village till he found his what?

The Cannibal ran like a crazed panther towards him.

"Can you see me now? I thought you said you could only hear my voice."

"I see you, Lugal... I see you."

The Cannibal dropped on his knees when he got to Damien.

"You do?"

I THINK I'M GOING CRAZY.

"Yes I do, Lugal. But I do not understand this."

"This, what do you mean, this?"

"Your body is floating in the air. How did it move itself from the hut to this place? Also, I can hear your voice, but neither your eyes nor lips are moving. It seems like I'm doomed to AKIADANTE."

THE FUCK IS THAT? AKIADAN SHIT.

Damien tried to process this as quickly as he could.

I GUESS HE CAN'T SEE ME. THAT'S WHY HE THINKS MY BODY IS FLOATING. IF HE COULD SEE ME OBVIOUSLY HE WOULD KNOW THAT THE BODY IS ON MY SHOULDER.

WAAH, THIS IS KILLING ME.

He knew that he didn't have time for this. He needed to act quickly, sort his thoughts quickly or he would be making a big mess.

"You can hear my loudly and clearly huh?"

He asked.

"Yes, Lugal. I can."

"Okay good."

He took a deep breath before continuing.

"First, you don't have to understand what is happening. You have been chosen by the Lugal and you are the first descendant of the most holy ones."

Don't ask him, he had no idea what he's talking about.

"Am I, Lugal?"

"Yes you are!"

The Cannibal dropped face down into the cold and damp earth, mumbling something Damien couldn't quite hear.

"The rest wouldn't know. They have not being chosen. I have chosen you to complete the MIAKUSA task. That would help finalize the rite of the sacredness."

"Worship Lugal... Almighty Lugal I worship you!!!"

The Cannibal raised his head, bowing repeatedly as he chewed on those words.

"I'll return to you in flesh as a great divine in two days. Then would I lift you higher than your peer."

"I'm unworthy of these, Lugal."

SHUT UP FOOL AND LET ME THINK THIS THROUGH. I HOPE I'M NOT MAKING ANY MISTAKE.

Damien gulped.

"Do you know what your task is?"

"Say the words, divine one and I'll see it come to pass, even with my life."

GOOD.

"You shall keep this meeting away from your peers and the rest. You shall not say a word until I told you otherwise."

"You shall follow my order right now and take this body to where I'd lead you."

"Then you shall watch over this body day and night until I say otherwise."

"Willingly, Lugal. Willingly, most divine one."

OH, THANK GOD.

Damien sighed.

"Get over here. Get on your feet."

He ordered, and the Cannibal did as told.

"Push your shoulders up a bit, I'll be putting this body on your shoulder now."

The Cannibal took the right position. He slowly dropped the body on the Cannibal's shoulder.

OH, THAT'S SO RELIEVING. I THOUGHT MY BACK WOULD BREAK.

"Go straight."

Damien began with the instructions and watched as the Cannibal naively and passionately ran up the path.

He felt bad for it. It was ironic that strong and powerful men such as the Cannibals have low IQs. Well, good for him. He could take advantage.

"Poor boy."

"Lugal, you called me?"

The Cannibal stopped walking.

SHIT, I MEANT IT TO BE A THOUGHT.

"Strong. Keep going. Take a left now."

The gullible Cannibal couldn't figure out. He was eager to be elevated according to the words of the Divine one, Lugal Damien.
