Harvey York's Rise to Power novel Chapter 243

Mandy was stunned. Previously, she didn’t even have the intention to look at Jamie. Now, she couldn’t help sneak a few glances at him.

For her, she had always wished her future husband would be exceptional in terms of appearance and abilities.

Cecilia shot a glimpse at Harvey, and sighed.

Before, I told Mandy not to bring Harvey along. Now, how wonderful is this? She’s humiliated.’

Nia smiled and stood up. “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m sorry. My husband has learned how to play piano since young. His skills are pretty good, too. After he saw the piano, he couldn’t help but want to play it. He didn’t have any intentions to show off. I hope none of you pay any mind.”

Nia said that they had no intention to show off, and she even asked the others not to mind it. Yet all that was exactly what she was doing right now, showing off. She was obviously enjoying the envy and admiration of her classmates.

“Nia, you’re so lucky! You have such a great husband! It’s like he’s from heaven!”

“That’s right. Piano is an important symbol for the nobility of Europe. Your husband is indeed a noble in our Niumhi!”

“Your husband is rich, handsome and talented. This kind of man is really one in a million!”

In that instant, the female classmates became Jamie’s fans. Their admiration rose when Jamie finished playing and stood up to bow like an elegant gentleman. All of them couldn’t help but admire him for his gentility.

They stared at Jamie, as though bewitched. Every single one of them wanted to be his wife badly.

“Jamie, I asked you not to act like that everywhere you go, but you didn't listen to me. If my classmates didn’t know any better, they might think we’re showing off!” Nia smiled and walked toward Jamie, and began to complain.

Despite her complaints, she couldn’t hide her smug expression.

“I can’t help it. Every time I see a piano, I feel like playing it.” Jamie said helplessly. “Don’t blame me. It’s because of my talents. I really can’t hide them.”

Nia mimicked his helpless look, sighing. She fixed her gaze on Mandy, and flashed Mandy a meaningful smile, “Mandy, I remembered you mentioned this back in the university. You said your future husband must be a pianist. Did I remember it right?”

Mandy, who had grown quite restless, paled slightly.

Seeing that, Nia grew ecstatic. She clapped her hands and said loudly, “My dear classmates, I’m sure you all remember, right? Our school beauty queen mentioned something like that before. A lot of you who confessed your love to her then. Didn’t she say anything like that?”

Many nodded their heads one by one.

“That’s right. Mandy said something like that!”

“I remember that Mandy mentioned that was her wish. She hoped that her future husband would be a charming pianist!”

“I don’t even know whether she managed to fulfill her wish after so many years.”

Clearly, many of the male classmates were rejected by Mandy because of that excuse. Now that the subject had resurfaced, they sighed. Unfortunately, none of them learned how to play piano at that time. If they did, they could be the person to be with her.

Sensing their excitement, Nia continued. “Mandy. Everyone said that your husband is a live-in husband and a worthless trash, but I know you. You’re not that kind of person. I’m sure your husband has some skills. Could it be that your husband is a charming pianist? If that’s the case, why don’t we ask him to go on stage to perform for us?”

At Nia’s words, everyone burst into laughter.

All of them were adults, and they were no fools.

At first they were puzzled as to why Nia mentioned the past, but now they finally understood. Nia had no other intention. She simply wanted to mock Mandy.

How could her live-in husband be able to play the piano? If he could play the piano, then pigs might even fly.

Angel could not bear to see that anymore. She intervened in a soft voice, “Nia, you’re just trying to make trouble. Mandy said that just to reject those relentless and lascivious pursuers!”

Mandy wanted to stop her, but failed. She could only heave a sigh in resignation.

“Hey, Angel. Are you implying the guys in our class were relentless and lascivious pursuers? Who do you think you are? Are you a b*tch?” Nia was filled with disdain. “Some people like to daydream in the past, but now she finally had some sense. Why are you trying to stop me from talking about it? Look, even Mandy’s afraid and didn’t dare to speak up. Who the hell are you? Do you even have the right to be cocky in front of me?”

Nia felt she finally could seek justice for herself, and vented out her anger. In the past, every time she had a crush on someone, she would go and confess her love. Every single time, the men would tell her that they liked Mandy instead. It happened so often, that she grew disgusted and angry.

Now she could finally let her feelings be known. How could she allow anyone to stand against her?

“Angel, don’t think you can act recklessly here just because we happen to be classmates. Let me tell you, you don’t even have the right to speak.” Nia said coldly. “You’d better get lost now. If not, don’t blame me for treating you rudely!”
