Mr. Powell Is Hunting for His Wife novel Chapter 19

“Mr. Powell, it’s ten o’clock now. Ms. Miller had left the office a long time ago…”

When Brooklyn took over Powell Group at the age of fifteen, Harper had become his assistant.

After so many years, he knew very well that his boss was having insomnia.

Powell Group was a powerful company. However, his illness couldn’t be cured after searching for famous doctors in Sliwell.

Nevertheless, when Ms. Miller just started working in the company for just one week, Mr. Powell could rest well as long as she was there. As a result, Harper did not need to worry about Mr. Powell’s health as before this he was afraid that Mr. Powell would die suddenly one day because of staying up late.

Ms. Miller was the one who saved Harper.

“Okay.” Brooklyn pressed his long fingers on his eyebrows, “Start the car and get ready to go back.”

“Yes.”

“Wait.” Brooklyn stopped Harper. “Investigate Anna and the people she interacts with regularly by asking all the people we know.”

He always felt reassured when he smelled the scent of her body which was so familiar to him.

But he was so sure that he never met Anna before.

Harper said, “Mr. Powell, haven’t you already investigated Ms. Miller’s background before?”

It was rare to find someone who could make Brooklyn fail to investigate her background.

Who was the one that had helped Ms. Miller hide her background?

Diana returned to her apartment at night. She pushed open the door and placed the things she was carrying on the shoe rack.

The house was quiet. It seemed like Austin and Emily had slept.

Seeing the empty takeaway boxes on the table in the dining room, Diana felt a bit guilty.

She found out that she needed some ingredients to make the perfumes in the living room so she called her son after work to ask him to look after his sister as she needed to work.

Austin agreed quickly.

Diana threw the takeaway boxes on the table into the dustbin and took her jacket. She put her jacket on the sofa and walked gently and quietly to their room door before pushing it open.

There was only a dim yellow light flickering faintly inside the room.

On the two beds, Austin and Emily had already changed into their pyjamas and they had already fallen asleep obediently.

They both had inherited the looks of Diana as well as Brooklyn, especially Austin who had a cold look just like his father, Brooklyn.

Looking at the two children, Diana felt like she loved them so much.

She walked to the bedside and gently kissed the foreheads of the two children before leaving the room quietly.

After a few minutes, she dressed in a smart white coat, tying her black hair up in a ponytail. Then, she came to the workroom.

There were all sorts of sophisticated instruments and spices on the rectangular work table. There was also a pile of documents scattered on the table.

The files contained the information that Rachel helped her to collect, which related to Mr. and Mrs. Hill.

The dense red handwriting on the documents was Diana’s annotations.

Mr. and Mrs. Hill ran the world’s largest clothing company. When they were young, they were also fashion designers who knew the fashion trends very well.

Diana wanted to approach them by letting them recall their memories. She wanted to create a perfume that could remind them of their romantic days when they were young.

She needed to purchase many ingredients to create an outstanding perfume.

Luckily Mirabelle gave her some money before and she did not need to take money from her savings. Diana put the ingredients she had purchased today in her workroom and sighed sadly as she looked at the things on her desk.

“Ugh, I think that I won’t be able to rest early again tonight.”

By facilitating the partnership between Mr. and Mrs. Hill as well as Powell Group as soon as possible, she could gain Brooklyn’s trust and broke him and Mirabelle up. By doing so, she could leave Sliwell with Austin and Emily.

She hoped that she could find Harley as soon as possible before she left Sliwell.
