Nobilis of War novel Chapter 1169

Fiend King Archer was furious that a Defiant Master had escaped. If his superiors learned about this, they would kill him.

"Get out of my sight!"

As Sheila was his daughter, he couldn't kill her to vent his anger.

"Yes, Father." Sheila quickly kowtowed and then rose to leave.

"Wait!" The fiend king roared with such intensity that the terrified Sheila sprawled on the ground again.

"Lead them in a search for the Defiant Master. I want him found!"

"Yes, Father. What should we do if the human masters hinder us?" Sheila asked cautiously.

"When you find the Defiant Master, inform me immediately. I'll personally come there," the fiend king instructed.

Sheila's eyes widened, and shock was evident in her expression as she glanced at her father. After some hesitation, she said, "You will break the agreement if you step into human territory. I'm afraid that the human race will send masters here to..."

"Humph!"

The fiend king snorted, and a powerful fiendish aura raced through his body.

"How dare you think that you can advise me? I know what I am doing. Now, get out!"

Terrified that she would infuriate her father further, Sheila retreated in a hurry.

On that day, all of the fiend king's generals headed toward Cloud Forest Sect.

The sky seemed to crumble under the overwhelming number of soldiers and generals in the fiend king's army.

A debate ensued in the Ancestral Land of the territory of the human race.

"Sir, Archer's subordinates are approaching for unknown reason. They're only thirty thousand kilometers away."

"Send someone to inform the ordinary cultivators nearby. They need to hide. There's nothing else to be done," a guard instructed.

"Well... I'm afraid that if they go on a rampage, they might threaten the Ancestral Land's safety."

"They are not powerful enough to wreak that kind of havoc. Just do as I say."

"Yes, sir."

A few inferior guards were soon sent to help evacuate the humans living within a radius of tens of thousands of kilometers. As for those outside this area, no action was taken.

However, the Ancestral Land's lack of action wasn't mirrored by the Blood Cloud Region. They did care about the humans in these parts!

There were nine regions and ten prefectures in human territory. Each area was incredibly vast and guarded by super-powerful masters.

Although Cloud Forest Sect was located at the Blood Cloud Region's perimeter, it was still an authentic sect in the Blood Cloud Region! Archer's men had, by now, started their search near Cloud Forest Sect. Since they were so bold, the Blood Cloud Region wouldn't take their breach lightly.

While the fiend king's generals searched for Darren, the Blood Cloud Region sent out a small group comprised of six guards.

The appearance of a strong and horrible aura from the sky woke Darren from his cultivation.

'What's happening?' Darren frowned and carefully probed the outside of the cave. He sensed several powerful fiends, and each was much stronger than the fiendish beast that the sect leader had killed before.

'Damn it! Are they searching for me?' Darren's heart sank at the thought.

He concealed his aura immediately so that they wouldn't discover him. Considering their overwhelming strength, he didn't dare to go out.

However, he also knew that he couldn't hide here forever. Since the fiends outnumbered him and they were significantly more powerful, they would find him soon.

After considering his options, Darren thought it would be prudent to ask that ascetic cultivator for help.

"Are you still here, sir?" Darren used his spiritual sense to send a message with the hope that someone inside would answer. But no one responded.

Unfortunately, his slightest movement allowed the fiends outside to notice him.

'Oh, my God. I underestimated them.' Darren panicked when he felt that the fiends were approaching.

Bang!

Before he could do anything, the mountain he stood on was blasted into rubble.

With nowhere left to hide, Darren grabbed Elsa's hand and flew out.

"We've found the Defiant Master!" The fiends outside began to stir when they sensed Darren's aura. He was the Defiant Master they had been in search of!

Whoosh!

Sheila had been looking in another place. As soon as she got the message that Darren had been found, she flew over.

"Humph, we really found him." Sheila was overjoyed. If she had returned without the Defiant Master, she would probably be killed. What pleased her more was that they had found him so easily.

"What do you want from me?" Darren shouted as he hovered mid-air.

"Idiot, I want to arrest you."

"Why do you have to catch me?" Darren asked again, as her answer had provided him with no clarity. He knew they wanted him, but he didn't know why.

"You don't need to know that much, Defiant Master. Arrest him!"

The powerful fiends released dozens of powerful fiendish auras as they flew forward. Their combined force was so intense that Darren was unable to resist.

All this while, Darren threw furtive glances at the broken mountain. He felt disappointed that the ascetic cultivator's vital energy had not returned to life as he had hoped.

"Take him to the fiend king!" Sheila ordered.

"Your Highness, wouldn't it be better if we inform His Majesty first?" one general asked.

"Now that he has been caught, we don't have to waste time with all that. Take him back immediately."

"But we are in the human race's territory, not in ours. If a powerful human comes to his rescue, we will be unable to complete the mission, and the consequences will be..." the general reminded her.

Sheila considered the general's rationale for a while and thought it made sense. If she did not inform her father and this Defiant Master was rescued halfway, she would be in a lot of trouble.

However, if she informed her father and waited for him to arrive, just as he instructed, even if a super-powerful human came to the Defiant Master's rescue, she would not be responsible.

Recognizing the wisdom in his advice, she immediately used her secret skill to communicate with her father.

"Father, we have caught the Defiant Master and dare not move without your permission. Please give us your instructions."

"Good, very good! I will be there immediately. Don't let him flee."

"Yes, Father."

The fiend king rushed out of the palace with such speed that his long black cloak fluttered behind him. The heavy skeleton sword, which he gripped tightly in his hand, lent him an imposing air.

In just a quarter of an hour, he arrived at the place where Darren was being held captive.

Whoosh!

He flew to Darren and glanced at him coldly.

A chill traveled through Darren. This fiend was too powerful, unlike any that he had encountered before.

He shuddered with fear, just like the time when he had met a grand warrior. He had been very weak in comparison.

"He is indeed a Defiant Master." After examining Darren's aura, the fiend king was thrilled.

If he caught a Defiant Master, he would get a huge reward. He might even be fortunate enough to be promoted to fiend emperor and be responsible for a small kingdom!

"I've never seen a weak Defiant Master like you."

The fiend king had seen a Defiant Master before. He had been captured by a powerful fiend god that the fiend king admired. That Defiant Master had been very strong, and he had killed several thousand fiend gods single-handedly. It was terrifying!

It was said that the captured Defiant Master had been an ordinary one and was considered weak among Defiant Masters.

As a result, to Fiend King Archer, Defiant Masters were supposed to be extremely powerful. When he heard from Sheila that she had met a very weak Defiant Master, he could not believe it. But now that he had seen it, he was astonished.

"God is helping me. I don't have to stay in this shit place anymore, ha-ha!" The fiend king laughed with joy.

"Archer, what makes you think that you can come to the Blood Cloud Region and do whatever you want?"

Six young men in grey robes suddenly appeared in front of the fiend king. The man at the head of the group crossed his arms and stared at Archer indifferently.
