Arnold didn't keep Hayden as she walked out of the house.

The sun was hot outside, but Arnold’s wife was still feeding the chicken under the sun as if she didn't mind the heat. She was obviously looking inside the house. But when Hayden came out, she turned her face away as if with a sense of hatred.

As Hayden walked past her, she could hear the woman muttering, "Such a blind."

"What?"

Hayden looked back at her, frowning, "Whom did you say blind?"

The woman looked up with rage, "I said my chickens are blind."

The chickens inside the cage cooed as if they were expressing their dissatisfaction too.

This woman was certainly not crazy to call her own chickens blind. There was only Hayden here, and the woman must be referring it to her.

Hayden looked at the woman, "The chickens are blind but they don't hinder you. But if someone is dumb, that's really interfering. Don't you think so?"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"The fire in the hotel had caused a significant loss and it needs someone to be responsible of it. One would be ruined for paying the loss even if it's just a fraction of it. It's not a matter that could be solved by just resigning. Do you know about this matter?"

The woman turned pale instantly.

"I'm staying at the B&B at the village entrance. You can come and find me if there's something you want to tell me."

Hayden left the Bevis house without even looking back after saying this.

Arnold’s wife seemed to know the inside story of the fire. Hayden had guessed some possibilities, but now she just needed to confirm it.

"You're back. Did you find Arnold?"

The boss's wife welcomed her warmly as she got back to the place she lived.

She was staying at the house of the fisherman who led her into the village. The view was lovely, and many who came here for a vacation during the peak season. Almost every household was a homestay for rural tourism.

"I've found him." Hayden smiled, "Where's the boss?"

"He went to haul in the nets with his son. A customer just came and ordered a box of seafood. And he will be here to pick it up shortly."

"Is that so? It's quite good business."

Hayden took a sip of the tea and stared out the window, feeling the breeze.

After a while, a business car stopped outside. The assistant saw Hayden as he got off the vehicle, giving a wary look, "You again? Did you stalk us? You're such a bad penny."

Hayden didn't know why he was hostile to her. She rolled her eyes at him and said with her chin resting on her hand, "What have you said. I live here well and now you're trying to blame on me?"

"You live here?"

A cold voice sounded behind the assistant. He was startled and looked back respectfully, "Mr. Sanchez."

"Yes. You can ask the boss's wife if you don't believe me."

Mr. Sanchez didn't ask anything but walked up to her, "Can I have a seat?"

"Feel free."

Before he sat down, the assistant, who was even more pretentious than the boss, called out to him, "Mr. Sanchez, don't sit down yet. I'll get the cushion for you."

Hayden sighed, looking at the subservient look of the assistant, "Mr. Sanchez, where did you find such an assistant? He's even more attentive than any secretary, even meddling with where to sit."

Mr. Sanchez hedged about it, and he sat down, "I found an antique rosewood armchair back at the Bevis house. It's even more collectable than the bureau from its age."

"Is that so? Congratulations."
