Reborn Through Fire (Kisa and Gilbert) novel Chapter 248

Chapter 248 It Will Be His Turn Soon

Kisa’s expression stiffened when she heard Gilbert’s name, but she quickly recovered. She took a sip of her wine and laughed with a hint of self–deprecation.

“He must know what I did today then. He must think I’m vicious. After all, in his perception, Christopher and Carolyn treat me well. He must think that I’m an evil, ungrateful b*tch.”

Jensen stared at Kisa who just mocked herself. “He didn’t say you were vicious,” he said. Kisa laughed indifferently. “It’s fine if he said it out loud or not. I know that’s what he thinks of me anyway–a heinous and vicious woman. But that doesn’t matter. I’ll just continue taking my revenge. Soon, it’ll be his tur.”

Jensen looked at Kisa quietly. For some reason, he always felt that her smile was unconvincing, and that there was a sense of brokenness behind it.

He put some food in her bowl and said with concern, “Carolyn and Sharon won’t let this that easily. You have to be careful.”

“Well, Kohen’s banquet is just around the corner. If my guess is correct, both of them will make a move then.”

“Then you should-”

“Don’t worry. I’ll be careful,” Kisa said and turned on the tapping device.

At the end of the tapping device, Kisa heard Carolyn’s roar. “It must’ve been you who felt sorry for that b*tch and told her about our plan. How else would she find out about it and use it against me? Tell me, Christopher, did you do it?”

“How many times do you want me to repeat myself? No, I didn’t tell her about the plan.”

“Then how did she find out?”

“Yeah, dad, it must’ve been you. No one would have told her about our plan except you. I know how sorry you feel for that b*tch while mom and I mean nothing to you.”

“Are you guys done? Was ruining our reputation today not enough for you both? I said I didn’t tell her. Would I have helped you frame her if I felt bad for her? Compared to our family reputation, she is nothing. How would I ever want our family name to be ridiculed as you just did all because of her?”

Jensen glanced at Kisa subconsciously. At first, he thought she would be sad at how heartless her father was, but she just continued eating her dinner.

Kisa did not expect affection from her family because she had never received it before, just like Jensen.

“…Okay, okay, it wasn’t you. Geez, there’s no need to get so angry.”

“That’s strange… Who else could have told her about it?”

“Could it be Anthony Mullen? After all, just like you said, Sharon, he’s the only one who knows about the plan besides us.”

“There’s no way it’s him. Anthony has a grudge against that b*tch too, so he wouldn’t have helped her. Plus, he kept calling me today just to ask why we hadn’t shown up yet. It’s clear

that he didn’t know we were tied up.”

“That’s weird. Did she secretly install a surveillance camera at home somehow?”

Kisa had already eaten her fill when they said those words. She wiped her mouth and said to Jensen, “I guess this tapping device won’t last much longer.”

After she said that, the voices from the tapping devices stopped, and all she could hear were rustling sounds.
