Reborn Through Fire (Kisa and Gilbert) novel Chapter 59

"Hohoho..."

Anthony emerged from the crowd. His eyes glinted with excitement as he stared at Kisa, "Just as I thought, Gilbert had you hidden away. It seems like you're receiving out-of-the-ordinary treatment from him."

Kisa instantly put on a sad face," Mr. Mullen, you must be mistaken; I have nothing to do with Gilbert."

"If there's nothing between you two, why did he have you hidden away? Take them away!"

Within moments, Kisa and Davian were tied up and shoved into a van.

Davian teared up. He turned to Kisa with guilt, "I'm sorry, ma'am. You're being kidnapped because of my foolishness. When Mr. Kooper left, he specifically told me to take good care of you. I should've thought about what my men told more thoroughly."

Kisa sighed, "It's not your fault; you were just worried for Gilbert. Besides, who would've thought that was a mole among your men?"

"That darn traitor! I'll skin him alive once I return," Davian said through gritted teeth.

Then, Kisa looked out the car window with worry. She had no idea how Anthony was going to torture her.

The drive was bumpy and took over an hour.

As the doors opened, Kisa and Davian were violently shoved out of the vehicle.

In anger, Davian shouted, "Stop being so rough! If you dare hurt the madam, Mr. Kooper will not spare you!"

Kisa was speechless.

'Is Davian trying to get me killed?' she wondered.

Davian held Kisa's chin up amusedly before turning to Davian, "Madam? So she really is Gilbert's ex-wife?"

Davian's face paled as he quickly shook his head.

Unfortunately, it was too late.

Anthony roared with laughter, "This time, it's Gilbert's turn to kneel and beg for my forgiveness!"

"Your plan is destined to fail," Kisa said calmly.

She continued, "Gilbert doesn't care if I die. Do you really think kidnapping me would be of much use?"

"Hah! If he doesn't care if you die or not, why did he have you hidden away?"

Seeing that he didn't believe her, Kisa quickly thought of a plan.

All of a sudden, her sickly thin face showed an expression that was a mixture of bitterness and grievance. She looked horrendous.

Anthony quickly retracted his hand and tutted in disgust.

Kisa cried out, "Take a look at my horrendous face. Do you really think that Gilbert would care for me? He hid me away because he wanted to take revenge by humiliating me. And this is all because I had set him up before."

"Oh!" This piqued Anthony's interest.

"So you set him up before?"

Kisa nodded.

"Mhm. Gilbert hates my guts and wishes for my death. That's why you kidnapping me would not threaten him at all."

Anthony's eyes glinted with doubt.

Kisa quickly added, "What's worse, I hurt his beloved grandma, so he would want to kill me himself. I suggest you let me go because kidnapping would provide no advantage to you at all."

Anthony chuckled, "You're more ruthless than you seem."

Then, he stood up and pointed to a rickety old warehouse.

"Tie her against that pillar inside," he said to his men.

Kisa was stunned, " You're not letting me go?"

"After all the trouble I went through to kidnap you, it would be a waste not to try and use you against Gilbert."

Anthony had a savage look on his face.

"Later, I'll gouge your eyeballs out first. Then, I'll cut off your arms. I don't think Gilbert wouldn't budge by then. Besides, even if I do kill you, I have nothing to lose, right?"

Upon hearing his words, Kisa's heart sank.

She knew very clearly that Gilbert would not care if she was dead or alive.

'If Anthony tries to probe Gilbert by using torture methods on me, I might actually die.'

At this thought, Kisa quickly turned to Anthony.
