Second Marriage novel Chapter 210

Diana’s voice was big, attracting all eyes in the coffee shop. Charlotte noticed that and she was panic. She got up and walked to Diana to cover her mouth, “Enough, stop.”

“Why?” Diana forcefully held her hand and sobbed, “You dare not face reality, but I dare! I’m an outsider. I know who is suitable for you, and I can tell who is kind to you!”

“That’s enough. I don’t want to hear it anymore.” Charlotte shook off her hand. “If you insisit, stay here and say it alone.”

With that, Charlotte carried her bag and walked quickly out.

Diana was stunned looking at her back and then wiped her tears and quickly chased after her, “Charlotte, don’t get angry, listen to me.”

Charlotte moved forward. There were many people, if Diana kept talking, she was afraid to be known by others, then she could not prove her innocence.

“I know it is hard for you to accept him, but there are a lot of helpless things in this world. As long as he doesn’t mind your identity, and is willing to take responsibility it is good. You will certainly be much happier with him than you are!”

Charlotte suddenly stopped her pace and looked back at Diana.

“Do you really think so?”

Seeing her stop, Diana stopped too. She nodded seriously, “Manfred is gentle, and I found he have fancy on you, if you can......”

“Do you think he’ll do anything to me because of that? Diana, if he really wants to be responsible, why he never seeks me?”

“What......?” Diana froze.

“It has been long gone. If he really wanted to find me, or if he wanted to be a responsible person, why didn’t he come to me? Instead, I have been looking for him. What does that mean?” Charlotte smiled with self-deprecation and continued without waiting for Diana said a word, “It means that he doesn’t care about what happened that night, and never wanted to have any relationship with the woman that night, perhaps...He had not attached any importance to what had happened that night. In their eyes, that day was just an accident, and I... I came to him myself, and no one will care.”

“...I haven’t thought about it before, and what you said is reasonable, but have you ever thought about that? Maybe he is looking for you too. It’s just...In ways you don’t know. Manfred doesn’t know we’re looking for him. Maybe, he just hasn’t got a clue to find you yet. After all...” With that, Diana dodged her eyes, looking at the ground, “You did not leave any clue that night, only......the button.”

Mentioning that button, Diana felt guilty. How could she get that button from Charlotte? Now she had two buttons of the original suit in her hand, as long as Charlotte gave that one to her, it would be safe.

Thinking of this, Diana had an idea and said, “Or I find a way so that he comes to you?”

“What? What way?”

“You give me the button, I’ll figure it out.”

Diana had an evil thought.

Charlotte stood still, neither agreeing nor refusing.

“Charlotte? What is it?”

“Actually, I am good.” Charlotte’s voice was as soft as the wind. “I don’t care who the man was that night. I don’t want to fight for anything. I just want to have a peaceful life.”

Did she want to give you? Diana was worried, “How can you? I asked my brother to help you find him. You want to live a peaceful like, but do you have a peaceful life now? You sleep on the floor every night. Kennedy doesn’t even want to look at you. Charlotte, what’s going on with you? Are you reluctant to leave such a man?”
