Sweet Wife in Hidden Marriage novel Chapter 53

Lillian’s face darkened when seeing Zoe’s case. Her hands couldn’t stop trembling.

“Stephen, is there no other way?” She looked at Stephen, who was sitting opposite to her and asked full of concern.

Stephen shook his head without saying anything. There was nothing he could do.

“Lillian, I have told you that Zoe must find a matched heart, otherwise, there is nothing I can do.” Stephen directly told her the truth.

Lillian shrugged the shoulder feebly. Of course, she knew a matched heart would save Zoe’s life. However, it was difficult to find and Zoe inherited her sister’s blood type with rh negative blood, which made it almost impossible to find her a matched heart.

“I can only tell you her treatment couldn’t last longer because she is almost incurable now.” Stephen said slowly. He had already tried his best. If it were not his request, the hospital would give up treating Zoe.

Lillian knew what he meant. She lowered her eyes in a trance and didn’t dare imagine what would happen to Zoe.

Suddenly, she reminded of something and looked at Stephen, “Stephen, do you know doctor Asa from the U.S.? Is he the authority and expert in handling with this kind of disease? What about inviting him to treat Zoe?”

Stephen frowned when hearing this and replied, “Indeed, he is an expert in this area. However, I think he can only extend Zoe’s life by a few months if we can’t find a matched heart.”

Lillian took a deep breath. She knew it was the best to find a heart. However, it was good if Zoe’s life could be extended. She wouldn’t give up any chance to let her survive.

Archibald had told her that he could contact with doctor Asa. Now it seemed that she had to look for him again. She tried to cut off their connection, however, the destiny put them together again and again.

Never mind. It was for Zoe and she should stop worrying their relationship.

Seeing Lillian’s worried look, Stephen comforted her gently, “Lillian, don’t give yourself too much pressure. Don’t forget about your own situation.”

“I know. Thank you, Stephen.” She sincerely felt grateful to him. Stephen really helped her a lot after they getting acquaint.

“Lillian, I don’t want to hear these words.” Stephen showed an angry expression.

Lillian knew he was pretending. She turned around her head and smiled, “Well, I have to look after Zoe now. I will never forget your help.”

Stephen was in a trance when seeing Lillian’s figure. He didn’t want her to thank him for helping her.

Before getting to the ward, Lillian tried to show a smile to make her look not so pale.

Zoe was playing the pirate ship Archibald sent her. Her eyes brightened when seeing Lillian came, “Mommy!”

Lillian sat beside her and her eyes darkened when seeing the model of the pirate ship. She had promised Zoe that she would take her to the playground, however…

“Mommy, what’s wrong with you?” Noticing Lillian’s expression, Zoe asked worriedly.

Lillian went back to mind and hurriedly made a smile, “Nothing.” Then she raised her hand to touch Zoe’s hair.

“Mommy, when can you take me to take pirate ship?” Zoe was desperate about going to the playground and didn’t want to hear children’s stories these days, only kept looking at the pirate ship model.

Zoe was a sensitive child and knew what was happening to her body even Lillian didn’t tell her. She was afraid that she would never get a chance to take the pirate ship because she frequently got sick these days.

“I will take you there, just one more treatment, okay?” Lillian found it difficult to say these words. She hated herself for making promise to Zoe. However, there was nothing she could do.
