Chapter 23: (Aubrey's POV)- Midnight Swim

"What do you want Peter? What was so urgent that you had to show up here? At his house?" I rolled my eyes before carrying the pizza boxes into the kitchen. I turned to face him to see him right behind me instead of at the door as Xavier had ordered him to. "What are you-" Before I could voice my question, he grabbed my waist, pulling me closer and smashing his lips onto mine.

I froze for a second, not being able to comprehend what the hell was going on before my senses kicked in. I used all my strength and I pushed him off of me, making him stumble back and hit the coat hanger, causing it to fall with a clash. "What the hell is wrong with you?!" I shouted. "Why would you do that? Peter, it's over! You ended it!" I screamed, being a not so gentle reminder.

"And I regret it. Please, Aubrey, I want you back," he sighed while taking steps closer to me.

I backed up a little before replying. "Get out of here, Peter," I spoke in a low and angry voice. When he didn't leave, I screamed. "Get the hell out!" I heard footsteps running down the stairs as we both turned to see Xavier coming down.

We stood in a deadly silence until he broke it. "I saw it," he spoke just above a whisper but I heard him crystal clear. "Are you okay?" he asked while taking gentle steps towards me.

"I'm sorry," I whispered while looking up at him as he stopped taking steps when he stood in front of me.

He shook his head while sighing before wrapping his arms around me, engulfing me into a warm hug. "Still hungry?" he whispered after a moment of just standing there, hugging me.

I gently shook my head no, before hiding my face in his chest, wrapping my arms around his neck tighter.

"If you hug me any tighter I'll lose the oxygen supply to my head," he chuckled.

I let out a laugh before letting go of him, blinking back whatever was left of the tears in my eyes. A tear managed to escape still, damn that tear.
