The Moon and The Ocean novel Chapter 38

OCEAN'S POV:-

I opened my eyes again and found myself lying near to the lake. I went to the lake and looked at my reflection. I could see Vixen in the water. She had a satisfied smile on her face. Seeing her smiling carelessly, I also smiled and sat on the ground. She came out of the water and laid on the ground beside me. I rested my head on her back and started patting her. Her white fur was so soft for my palms. I hugged her like I was hugging my sister.

Vivian: Perhaps, she is your sister, my dear Ocean.

I heard my mother's voice and quickly turned around. As my eyes fell on her, I stood up and ran towards her. I jumped on her and hugged her tightly. She giggled and rubbed my back lovingly.

Ocean: You have no idea. I was dying to meet you. I have had the most horrible nightmare of my life, mama.

I replied to her while sobbing quietly.

Vivian: Shh… I know everything. Whatever you have seen, it was for your own good. Now that you have told everything to Alpha Zeus, he will find a way out. He will save your Moon.

She cooed me and kept rubbing my back.

Ocean: I know, he has been around you. Has he hurt you? What does he want from you? I'm talking about my father.

I asked her in a worried tone. She broke the hug and took me near the lake. We both sat down on the ground and I hugged her tightly.

Vivian: He wants what you both have. You have to promise me that you will never give up. You are his strength. Moon only depends upon you. You have to be with him till this all will end. Promise me, you will never leave him alone.

She asked me and I nodded my head.

Ocean: I will never. I promise, I will be with him till the last breath I will take. But you have to promise me something as well. You have to promise me that you will take care of yourself and will call us if he would come to hurt you.

I asked her and she also tightened her hold around me.

Vivian: I promise my dear. I will call you if he would come to hurt me.

She promised back and I sighed in relief. She then stood up and went away. I again hugged Vixen again.

Ocean: How is it possible? How come we survived our full moon that easily. And that too our first full moon.

I asked Vixen in a curious tone. She wrapped her tail around my neck as if she was protecting me from cold. Her warm fur helped me survive the chilly weather.

Vixen: Our bond is powerful and the lust between us and our mate was greater than the blood lust all the wolves feel on the full moon. His passion became our shield and it protected us from leashing out. Or hurt our mate like a newly born wolf. We might have met each other a bit late but we have been together ever since our birth.

She replied and I nodded my head.

Ocean: Will you be with me and protect our mate like he had protected us last night?

I asked her and she nodded her head with a huge smile on her face.

Vixen: Of course I will. We will fight Valtor together and we will do everything we can to save Moon. I promise, I am with you.

She replied and I pecked her back.

Ocean: Thank you, Vixen.

I thanked her and she nodded her head. Then we both closed our eyes. Cuddling with each other, we both fell asleep.

MOON'S POV:-

I woke up in the morning and looked at my mate who was smiling while dreaming. Seeing her peaceful smile, I could not help but stare at her. I rested my elbow on my pillow and my head was rested on my hand. I chuckled when I remembered our steamy shower together. She frowned little as I chuckled a little louder. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at me. She smiled and opened her arms for me. I leaned in and hugged her tightly. I buried my face in the crock of her neck and inhaled her sweet vanilla scent deeply. She giggled as I rubbed the tip of my nose with her neck.

Ocean: Stop it. You are tickling me.

She said with giggling. I always loved to hear her giggles. They were more melodious than any music in this world. I sat up on the bed and pulled her onto my lap. She rested her head on my chest and I wrapped my arms around her tightly.

Moon: I can still remember the first time I saw you. That day, I thought I would never be able to meet you again. Now look at us. We are mates and we cuddle with each other every night.

I said and she giggled. She was very shy since she had woken up. I pinched her chin lightly and guided her gaze towards mine.

Moon: What is it? Talk to me. Why are you not saying anything? You never felt shy around me.

I asked her in a worried tone and she shook her head with a smile on her beautiful face. She leaned up and cupped my chiseled face by her soft and fragile hand. She first pecked my lips then she sucked my lower lip. She then broke the kiss and looked into my eyes like she could see her dream land in my eyes.

Ocean: Last night was magical. I will never forget it. Now that we are mates, no one will ever be able to separate us, ever.

She replied in a cute dreamy tone that made me feel something warm inside my chest. She was not just cute, she was more than adorable. And I promised myself to adore her for the rest of my life. Every time I saw her beautiful and adorable face, it just made me feel how lucky I was.

I grabbed her hips and with an easy swing, I was on top of her. I pinned her on bed and leaned in, to bite her again and drink her blood. Usually, us vampires never liked a wolf around us. But Ocean was different. The taste of her blood was sweet and it smelled like a fresh vanilla cake. My fangs grew bigger and she held her breath. She knew it would be pleasurable for her as well.

As I was about to bite her, we both heard a loud thud along with a painful cry. Ocean and I both recognized that voice. We both hopped off of the bed. My claws grew bigger and I ran towards the door. In all that, I totally forgot that Ocean did not follow me.

I reached the garden of our mansion and quickly went towards my grandfather who was lying on the ground. He was badly wounded, like he was in a fight. He opened his eyes and tried to say something to me but he lost consciousness. I looked around and understood what he was trying to tell me. About fifty vampires were standing in my garden, ready to attack me and tear me into pieces. I gritted my teeth seeing them invading my territory.
